Light, meet tough.
Lightweight and durable aren’t two words that usually go together, but the Nalini Aeprolight 1 Men’s Bib Shorts aren’t your usual piece of cycling apparel. Made with the company’s proprietary Hot Moa X-Light fabric, the Aeprolight is carefully designed to keep your engine out of the red zone on the hottest summer days. Hot Moa X-Light is woven using a method Nalini calls Moa High Tenacity, which increases abrasion resistance and durability, so your shorts’ low weight doesn’t equate to low durability. The final part of the Moa family of technologies, Moa Mantodry is a moisture-wicking treatment that speeds evaporation to help you stay comfortable when the heat is radiating off the road.
Stretchy paneling and mesh inserts help the bibs fit riders of different sizes while improving cooling at the same time. Nalini’s Xrace Man chamois combines multi-thickness foam with strategically placed gel pads to suck up road vibrations, too, so you can spend long hours in the saddle without becoming unduly sore.
- Q & A
Nice, BUT sizing is WAY WAY off!!!
- Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
- Fit: Runs small
- Size Bought: XXL
When you spend this amount on a pair of bibs you kind of expect them to match the sizing charts. I have another pair of cycling shorts from the same manufacturer and they fit like a glove. I wanted another pair and the sizing chart posted matched the size of my current bib shorts. When the shorts came they were really nice and the size listed was correct, but the shorts were way to small, I couldn't even pull them up over my legs. I could see how the actual size might be off by 1 size, but these were off by 2-3 sizes, easy. This brand should be a buyer beware and you should be prepared to send them back and eat some additional shipping costs.
Really like these bibs but...
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: Medium
First impressions when these bibs arrived is that the packaging was a bit overdone. A nice box instead of the usual plastic bag but that box has absolutely nothing to do with the bib quality. Now to the important information. Through them into the washing machine and when I pulled them out they were the lightest pair of bibs when wet that I own. Soaking wet weight is important when you are riding a double metric in the heat. Nothing I hate more than a chamois that feels like a wet diaper or dragging that extra pound of sweat up a big climb. Pulled them on for a 55 mile sprint with the gang and these are some nice looking bibs. The fit and finish is spot on as you would hope for this price point. These bibs are very comfortable and feel great even though the chamois is pretty thin. Important things stayed in place and the chamois recovered nicely on all of the hill sprints. The only thing possibly negative about these bibs is the lack of absorption of the material. These are the first bibs I have worn where I could feel the sweat running down my lower back around the hip bone area. This did not create any discomfort in the chamois probably because it tends to shed moister quite well. Due to the thinness of the chamois I would not recommend these bibs to the casual rider or someone that really 'sits' in the saddle instead of putting power to the pedals. Based on the fit and finish I have high expectations of these bibs over the long haul.
