When you have the MSR Papa Hubba NX 4-Person 3-Season Tent at your disposal, you're limited only by your imagination. And, well, probably time and money, too. You can take the family for a weekend in the woods, knowing the car stands ready should a speedy exit become vital to survival. You can take your two Huskies for a hike above the treeline and a night out when the August heat becomes oppressive. You and three photo-fiend friends can hit the dusty trails in the Winds for some late-season shooting.
For a 4-person tent, this big daddy is light in your pack yet tough on the ground. This camping castle weighs just under 6 pounds on your back and offers cross-tent ventilation and protection from the weather. The ripstop nylon bathtub floor uses DWR and a 3000mm Durashield polyurethane coating to prevent precipitation from creeping in. The body of the tent uses a blend of mesh and nylon ripstop to shield your skin from nosy neighbors while letting fresh air flow. The nylon ripstop rainfly offers protection from above for when fat thunderheads burst open.
Unlike other mobile homes, you access either vestibule via a side zipper, tucked neatly away underneath a gutter, on the rainfly. You are able to enter the tent without exposing your camping crew to a deluge. The off-center access also means you are able to exit and enter then tent, even when you've rolled up the edges of the vestibule and guyed them out so a refreshing breeze can cross the tent. In addition to the doors, mesh at either end of the tent provides ventilation in every direction. Even if you don't tang the air, you know one of those dogs is bound to let a silent-but-violent at some point.

- Q & A
Does the gear shed fit this tent?
The gear shed will fit the MSR backpacking tents up to the Mutha Hubba, but not the Papa Hubba. If you have any other questions or need assistance with an existing order or placing an order, please feel free to contact us on Chat or call us at 1-800-409-4502. Thanks!
Perfect for canoe camping!
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I absolutely love this tent. I have a Hubba Hubba 2 person for what must be close to a decade and always loved it but wanted more room. The Papa Hubba was the perfect choice! It's ideal for canoe camping/fly fishing trips and car camping but light enough to backpack with. Perfect for 2 people, gear and a pup!
It's super easy to setup and breakdown and the material quality is fantastic and durable. I've had it for about 3 years now and can't tell you how many times I've used it. Wish it had come with with footprint, so that's a must add and fits perfectly.
Whew. That was easy.
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Decided to go on a road trip and camp several nights. I needed something that would have enough space for the three of us, not be too big but spacious enough, and be super simple to set up. This tent is perfect for that. We can sit up inside in the middle. Floor space is enough for us- even with a squirmy child. Set up (once I figured it out) was a breeze. I can do it in the dark if I have to. We have only tried it one night in the backyard, but so far, so good. We will be camping by the Grand Canyon as well as in Glacier NP. Needed something that would work anywhere. Even though we are driving, space is limited. This tent, all of its stuff, and the footprint take up hardly any room. I had heard complaints about tents not being that easy to set up, but if you go with a better (and more expensive) tent, it is well worth it in the frustration level. I had read awesome reviews about smaller versions of this tent plus conversations with someone who camps frequently and owns the two person version, so I was willing to pay a bit more for the reported quality.
Great Tent Series!
The MSR Hubba Hubba NX 2 Person tent looks like a winner! This MSR Hubba Hubba NX 2 Person tent boasts being lightweight, packs small, made of modern materials and is easy to setup/pitch. Some of the top things this MSR Hubba Hubba NX 2 Person tent shows me is it is pretty roomy with 39" of headroom and 25" of width per person for sleeping pads. Ventilation in this MSR Hubba Hubba NX 2 Person tent is awesome. I reviewed the MSR Holler 2p tent in the past and it was lacking ventilation and had condensation issues. This MSR Hubba Hubba NX 2 Person tent has great ventilation and mesh in key places to maximize ventilation. Use it for backpacking, camping, shtf, prepping if your a prepper, glamping or anything else. I am excited to get out and use this tent in 2017, look for a long term review summer 2017!
Love it very much
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
