Spacious and well-ventilated sleeping for three.

Take to the trail with a friend or two in the backpacking-friendly MSR Mutha Hubba NX 3-Person 3-Season Tent. This beautifully breezy portable palace offers ample room for you and two friends, features a newly redesigned floor plan that gives you and your mates plenty of room to stretch out, catch some shuteye, and get ready for another long day of adventuring ahead.

The bathtub-style ripstop nylon floor of the Mutha Hubba rises up along the sides of the walls to save your sweet dreams from fat raindrops and splattering mud. A weather-resistant Durashield polyurethane coating stops rivulets of rain from streaming into the tent, and the inner canopy combines mesh panels with lightweight nylon for cross-tent ventilation.

The Mutha Hubba NX takes an innovative approach to the rainfly-vestibule interaction, too. Instead of a center zip, you get into the vestibule (and tent) via a side zip on the fly. The zipper is tucked beneath a rain gutter so you can come and go as you please without exposing your tentmates to a deluge, and two vestibule-covered doors mean easy access to an after-dark bathroom break. Both vestibules allow you to roll up the edges of the fly and guy them out to let an fresh wind sneak inside, and vents at both ends of the tent, plus the side doors, mean you can get air from every directions.

Light, durable, lovable

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I absolutely love this tent. I have had a Mutha Hubba for a few years now, and it has quickly become one of my favorite pieces of camping gear. The setup on this tent is extremely fast, with the single pole hub design. The tent stands up to rain, snow, wind, whatever you throw at it! For such a lightweight tent, its super durable. And the mesh sides allow for a nice breeze through the tent. I would definitely recommend this tent to anyone!

Best 3 person backpacking tent!

With a perfect combination of durabilty and light weight, you usually come out searching MSR gear. This tent does not fail in that area, other tents that make awards usually do not last in the area of durability. I chose this tent for that reason and once I got my hands on it, I was so stoked to find out that it packs down so small. I have a Marmot Tungsten as well (have not taken that tent out backpacking). But packed up and all, the Mutha Hubba packs down much smaller than the Tungsten. Also have fit my Exped Megamat Duo into this tent, and it barely fits. Awesome backpacking tent if you have a pet or a child.

Excellent!

Used this tent for two people and a dog. Perfect size . Space for gear too. Spent a month cycling around Costa Rica and it survived heavy tropical rain too. No leaks . It would definitely be too big for just two people though. 3 person, or two and a dog is great .

    Perfect Light weight Tent

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I was recommended this tent from a lot of people and it didn't disappoint. Great Summer backpacking tent. Lightweight but Durable. Well worth the money spent! I can carry it on my Osprey Volt easy and set up is really quick and easy.

    Awesome Tent

This tent is amazing, super lightweight on the trail, folds up and compresses into a small sack, and was very sturdy in high winds. I highly recommend this tent to anyone in the market for a new one!

    Unanswered Question

On the specs it says the vestibule is 14 sq ft. Is that counting both vestibules?
    Thanks

    Is it 2016 model ?

Hey Mikko - This is the 2016 model of Mutha Hubba NX Tent. Feel free to contact me directly with any additional questions.

Does the Mutha Hubba have an option for gear shed?

    Hey Marcus:

The rain fly has two vestibules, if that's what you mean by a gear shed.

    Superb Shelter

This tent is one of the best I've come across. It packs up very small but has plenty of space once it's set up. 3 people is fine, but 2 is what I usually do so that we have space for our packs inside. The versatility of either being mostly just screened in or completely covered is great.
