The only fire you need in the alpine.

Spend a week backpacking across the alpine's ever-changing weather conditions, and you'll be grateful you brought Mountain Hardwear's Phantom Flame Sleeping Bag. This superlight bag uses Q.Shield hydrophobic down insulation to ensure warmth when moisture rolls in while you're sleeping. Its down insulation has an 800-fill weight for the best loft-to-warmth ratio available.

Mountain Hardwear also gave the Phantom Flame a snug, weight-saving performance mummy cut. The insulated hood features a gasket to protect your face from wind, and the draft collar has two drawcords to ensure a secure fit. There's a full-length zipper and an included stuff sack for extra camping convenience.

Great sleeping bag

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Light, warm and packs well.

Awesome Bag

This is a great sleeping bag. You can tell it is made with high quality. I used this on a night that was down to 20 with booties, soft shell pants, a base layer top and a mid layer jacket and was actually too warm. I had to unzip down below my shoulder to vent a little bit. It is a little on the narrow side, so if you have very broad shoulders, it might not be perfect for you. I loved the bag and very satisfied though. Feel free to reach out directly with any questions at all!

This bag was great for a night in the desert. I used it in temps that got down only in the 40's and I was able to sleep in just a t-shirt and shorts. Most of the night I had to keep the bag unzipped because it was just too warm. The bag feels soft and was extremely comfortable. I usually don't like to sleep in bags without long sleeves and pants because the material isn't very comfortable next to skin, but this bag was surprisingly comfortable. I am almost 6 foot and I had plenty of room and didn't ever feel claustrophobic. I would highly recommend this bag.
