Mountain Hardwear Nitrous Hooded Down Jacket - Women's

Protective warmth wherever you need it.

Stow the Mountain Hardwear Women's Nitrous Hooded Down Jacket inside its pocket for climbing, skiing, and backpacking trips, and whip it out of its pocket whenever you get cold. Stuffed with 800-fill down insulation, the Nitrous packs some serious warmth without much weight. Mountain Hardwear's Q.Shield treats the down with water-resistant protection in order to retain its warmth just in case it gets wet. There are dual drawcords at the hem, and elastic bindings at the hood and cuffs for sealed-in warmth.

Lightweight

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs small

This jacket is definitely lightweight and packs small. It keeps my girlfriend warm, she's always cold so it has that going for it. We are a little concerned about the durability, I guess time will tell.

Great jacket!

I bought it as a gift, and the person who I bought it for ended up wanting a different one, but this is a great jacket!

    Not very Durable

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: small

This jack has a good fit jacket, size, fit and everything. It is small compact and warm. The fit is tight on the armpits but it does make adding layers nicer so I will take a little weird fit to be able to add layers comfortably.

It is not a product to be used when actually climbing or adventuring. I wore it on one trip to Redrocks NV and it was toast. Holes in the back (just from laying on a rock after a long 10 pitches). Feathers leaving the seams the first day I wore it. One big hole just from being packed in the same bag with my cams. I tried to bring it back but I was past the 30 day return policy. Mountain Hardware does not guarantee their products. So now I have a 200 dollar pile of feathers after one month of use and only one big trip.

    love this jacket!!!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: medium

I love this jacket, its light and warm. couldn't be happier. It packs into itself so it doesn't take up too much space

What is the weight of this jacket?

SoCal Girl in CO loves it!

I this for my Southern Californian wife for technical and stylish wear to help her enjoy/not freeze Colorado winters. She says it is extremely warm, yet still lightweight. She loves the hood. This was one of my better gifts for her, because if she's warm, she's happy. And if she's happy, my winter goes a lot smoother!

          Pretty Perfect Down Piece

Great down sweater/jacket that is light and versatile in use. My go to layer on a recent expedition to Bolivia climbing/skiing high-alitude peaks. Great insulation and great fit. I am 5'8, medium/athletic build, and the Medium was perfect. Warm but thin and great movement/flexibility.
