  • A versatile pant built for backcountry hiking
  • Reinforced knees and seat panels adds durability where it matters
  • Stretch fabric for improved mobility on rugged terrain
  • Snap secure phone pocket protects from dropping
  • Zippered side pocket for compass or small maps

Great materials, tight fit

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 32x32

I am a land surveyor, therefore I'm constantly squatting/crouching down looking for stuff. I immediately was drawn to the abrasive but yet flexible material the pant is made of. But after putting them on, my wife and I decided, they are cut like 'skinny jeans'. I am 5'9" 170, athletic build but have thinner than average legs/calves (bought the 32x32) and the pants are close to snug around my chicken legs. I will try the normal AP pant next. I'm just not into the skinny jean look.

Mountaineering pants

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I got these for canping/hiking in less favorable conditions. Usually I wear shorts all the time but I needed some pants for hiking in colder weather. These fit great and are warm.

killer pants

had an awesome time trying these pants just like the other ap pants but the knee reinforcement is amazing and I love the extra pockets

One Pant to Rule them ALL

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 34

If you already own the original AP pant getting this one won't be hard to add but if you have not had this brands AP (All Purpose) then why not start with the top of the line... A little heavier which is like for fall and mountain living. Snap back pockets are a nice addition and trico lined pockets are a nice addition. What I like most if the utility. I can wear for almost any outdoor activity but can also use it for a night on the town and my wife doesn't complain when I wear it out for date night. As a guy this is basically the trifecta for a dude.. Well done Mountain Hardwear!!! My new favorite pant.

    How to Measure:
All measurements correspond to equivalent body measurements, not the dimensions of the garment. For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
    Chest:
Measure under your arms, around the fullest part of your chest.
    Sleeve:
Measure from the center of your back to your wrist with arms held out.
    Waist:
Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape a bit loose.
    Hip:
Measure around the fullest part of your body at the top of your legs.
    Inseam:
Using pants that fit well, measure the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.
