Mountain Hardwear Dynama Capri - Women's

High-step or dyno. Luckily this capri can do both.

The Mountain Hardwear Women's Dynama Capri has the stretch that dynamic climbs call for. Its lightweight stretch fabric has a DWR coating to shed the falling raindrops that ruin your sending sessions. A low-profile wide waistband gives you a flattering figure at the climbing gym.

I love these pants so so so comfy. The waistband is so soft. Very flattering fit.

Great pants!

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: xs

I have worn these to the climbing gym a couple of times and on one hike, and they were great for both. Very comfortable, and I like that you can cinch the hem. Roomy pockets. Will probably buy a second pair n a different color!

Flattering, versatile in form & function

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Size Bought: XL

Gym, hiking, around the house, en route to the river, sleeping, also great ON the river if it's cooler out, to the grocery store, reading in the hammock, and if I was into yoga I would use them for that, too.

The waist band is phenomenally flattering, the overall fit works great for someone like me who is pear shaped w/ thunder thighs. The fabric is light and breathable without feeling cheap or being clingy. I love the bit of stretch in the fabric, it makes them extra comfortable. I also love the pockets so you can toss a key or card in there if you're running to the store. And its great to have the option to cinch the bottom hem, or leave it open/wide. (I look like a sausage if I leave it cinched, so I was glad to find I could leave them open). Another point of versatility.

I like them so much I am considering a second pair!

Update: I bought the second pair! I have worn them so much that the fabric on the inner thigh is starting to pill. That part is kind of a bummer, but I still love the fit and fabric so much. So comfortable and versatile overall, and so hard for me to find a good fitting bottom.

Another thing to note, the "Mountain" color looks like a grey/blue here, but it is really a light dusty blue. And the "stone green" looks pretty close to reality, but I'd say is a touch lighter or less saturated in color in real life.

What size pants do you wear normally? I'm a 10-12 and am just trying to get a size. I am also a pear with thunder thighs *proud*

I am a 14-16 depending on brand. Current measurements are 33-ish natural waist and 43-ish hips. I lost a few lbs since that last review, but I also ordered a third pair, still in an XL. They are starting to feel a bit loose, though, so I am considering trying a L, though according to the chart I am just an inch narrower than the XL. Also of note, the fabric on the new pair (I got the grey ones) seems to be just a touch heavier than my original two pairs, which I think is for the best.
