Cheap on down

Jacket is not warm and lacks material, there is barely any down in there. Looks good tho!

Well built jacket

Feels high quality, pics look like it's a huge puffy jacket but it's deceivingly thin. The Gore Infinium works very well - was wearing this in -8 C, -18 C with windchill and didn't disappoint (blocking wind) The reason I rated 4 instead of 5 is I expected it to be warmer with a description that starts with "For winter's most bone-chilling days" With layering you'll have no problem, but I expected this to be comfortable down to around -15 C without layering too much. If you're going to be idle, you'll need to have decent mid layers at that temp. If you're doing some physical activity, shouldn't have a problem.

Not made for bone chilling weather

Love the jacket. Well made. Well styled. However, the claim about addressing bone chilling weather conditions is not accurate. As mentioned by another reviewer, the insulation is lacking considerably in the arms. In minus18 C temperature in Ottawa, my arms felt the cold as soon as I stepped out of the house. A good thick sweater makes up for the shortcoming. I'm keeping the coat for sure but will also keep my warm wool sweater close by.
