For the practical girl that still wants to look good, Mountain Hardwear created the Women's AP Skinny Pant. The flexible fabric includes some stretch, so you'll feel comfortable and move easy during your commute, but the skinny cut makes for a fashion-forward twist that every lady can appreciate. Wear these to your job crushing rock samples, then wear them for that quick afternoon hike with friends—these khakis know how to withstand a scrape or two.

  • Durable everyday pants for an active lifestyle
  • Canvas material resists abrasion
  • Stretch construction for easy movement
  • Reflective tabs on back pockets for night travelers
  • Regular fit and skinny style is slim, flattering, and comfortable

Great but not perfect

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Size Bought: 4x32

I bought these pants for hiking when I didn't want to wear my technical pants and for rock climbing. The fabric is a little warm/thick so I don't think I would recommend them for summer. The fit is great; I have lean legs and sometimes feel like finding pants that fit my height and hips mean I have to wear baggy pants but these are snug in the best way, not an encumbrance when climbing. My main complaint is after one day wearing them the fabric already had a rip in it. It's a bummer because they look and fit great. The rip was on my shin of all places which wasn't where I expected them to wear after a day of climbing. I still like the pants and would consider rebuying them in the future but would be cautious because of the fabric.

Love!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

OK, I love these pants! I love the fit, feel and look of them. They may not be for everyone. They are a little stiff. Definitely not "soft." But that is one of the things that I love about them. They make great climbing and scrambling pants. It doesn't make them uncomfortable or itchy or anything like that. They feel durable. I wear them with my Salmon X Ultra shoes. The waist is a tad on the large size, so I usually wear a belt

these pants!!

I have been on the hunt for a new pair of active pants and these were honestly better than I was hoping for. The cut is perfect for muscular thighs and glutes, but taper down to a nice skinny leg at the bottom. The front pockets can actually hold a phone comfortably, a rarity when it comes to most women's pants. Great for everyday use, hiking, scrambling, biking, just about any activity you can think of. The inseam is listed at 32, but I actually measured mine around 30.5. Waist sizing was true to other brands. Not an exaggeration when I say these are my new favorite pants. Currently have 2 colors, but maybe I should just snag all 4?

How to Measure:
All measurements correspond to equivalent body measurements, not the dimensions of the garment. For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
Bust:
Measure under your arms, around the fullest part of your chest.
Sleeve:
Have a friend measure from the center of your back to your wrist.
Waist:
Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape a bit loose.
Hip:
Measure around the fullest part of your body at the top of your legs.
Inseam:
Using pants that fit well, measure the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.
