Montana Fly Company crafted the Copperback Stone for fast casts on long fishing days. Its wire-wrapped body complements the bead head to dive into water quickly, and its design imitates stoneflies, which are a staple food source of freestone river trout. This pack includes six bugs so you can share a few with your fishing buddies when they're getting skunked out there.

- Q & A
Perfect Stonefly Imitation
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
This fly sinks fast (just a bit slower than a tungsten weighted body) with its wire wrapped body and bead head to look like the perfect tumbling stonefly nymph imitation. The sizing is great for Western rivers but less likely to be effective for slower moving bigger streams without as much volume or bio diversity.
Also, the cut wings are much more durable in a freestone meaning they are less likely to come undone because they haven't been folded over and tied down. These are nearly perfect stonefly imitations for true fly fishermen looking for a durable stonefly that holds its shape after repeated casts and banging up against big boulders.
