Best Trad Harness
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
I ordered a LOT of harnesses recommended for big days on the wall, and this one was the best one for my needs. The gear loops are HUGE and easily accessible (some have the rear too far back so I can't see any gear while I'm climbing, others have tiny loops that can't fit my full rack). The fit is incredibly comfy and the extra weight compared to sport harnesses is unnoticeable.
I tried the women's and the men's fit and would highly recommend going with the women's if you wear your harness around the small of your waist, above your hips. There's a little extra length on the leg loops and it makes a world of difference in comfortability.
As for sizing, I ordered a Small and have a 27" waist and 22" thighs, and the fit is perfect. I can wear it in hot weather or layered up when it is colder out. Getting it cinched down is a bit harder to get used to at first, but once you figure it out it isn't bad at all.
Did you feel like the sizing was pretty accurate, or did it run a tiny bit small/large? I'm RIGHT on the fence between sizes and my instinct is to size down because it'll stretch with a crapton of gear hanging off it (I need something to use route-setting) but if it runs a tiny bit small I'll go with the bigger size.
