A light and breathable trail shoe.

A full-on hiking boot may be great when you're hiking in the High Sierras, but when most of your hiking is done on dusty desert trails and overgrown-with-brush foothills, you'll want something light, breathable, and a bit more comfortable. Based off Merrell's classic Moab hiking shoe, the Men's Moab Edge has all the trail-ready features you'd expect from the Moab, but with a light and breathable mesh upper that's ideal for desert canyons and hot low-elevation trails.

The bellows tongue prevents rocks and debris from hitching a ride on your socks, and Merrell's M Select Fit.Eco footbed is contoured to offer a more comfortable fit and feel. Organic odor control helps to keep the shoes from stinking up the joint after a hot and long day on the trail. Meanwhile, the hard-wearing Vibram sole ensures reliable traction on everything from desert sandstone to coniferous duff.

  • Synthetic mesh upper
  • Breathable mesh lining

Great shoes!!!

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
  • Fit: True to size

GI got these for my brother and they are his 5th pair of Merrells, he swears by them. He says they are by far the most comfy shoes made.

Moab Edge is worth your time!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I purchased the Moab Edge shoe as a replacement for my boy friends Moab Ventilator shoe(it fell apart on a trip to Moab). The edge offers a little more support for arches and also has great tread for hiking. These went on a 14 mile hike 2 days after bringing them home and had no blisters or foot aches. After a month of use, he says that the outside of his right foot is rubbing a little but he also has a knee injury that could be causing him to walk a little different. Overall, he's very pleased with these shoes and they are doing great while on the trail.

Lite weight and sturdy

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I grew up hiking in tennis shoes. Can't tolerate heavy boots. These shoes are light weight and give good support. After wearing them for several hikes , the left ball of my foot would hurt after about one mile. Going to try a sturdy foot bed. May just be my foot. Overall very happy.

Great solid hiking shoe

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Men's 9

Bought these for my 14 year old son. He wore them the day I brought them home on an overnight hike and came home without blisters. He has a narrow foot and high arches. Did not want to take them off.

Runs small

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs small

I've always worn an 11 or 11.5. This shoe is really small, so I'll have to try a size 12.

Just ok

For the money I guess I can't complain too much, but not totally impressed. Doesn't seem to be too much traction when when wet and the sole isn't very comfortable. Sizing seems fine and haven't really used for hiking so can't really speak to the quality of the materials. Not sure I would buy again
