When push comes to shove, there's no real need to conduct a complete overhaul on the beloved Women's Moab Boot. So instead, the designers at Merrell equipped with Merrell Moab 2 Mid Vent Hiking Boot with a few new features that simply improve the shoe rather than change it robustly. To start, the Moab's upper has been updated with a waterproof, performance suede that prevents moisture from infiltrating your socks. Additionally, the shoe now touts a Speed Band for torsional support and stability as you navigate varied terrain.
In keeping with the original design, a bevy of mesh inserts offer passive ventilation, while the bellowed tongue keeps debris at bay. A protective toe cap safeguards your foot from trail-side obstacles, and the M Select FIT.ECO footbed is equipped with zonal arch and heel support, as well as a Merrell Air cushion in the heel for added impact absorption. Not to mention, an EVA midsole attenuates shock and prevents foot fatigue, and the Vibram TC5+ outsole maintains subtle, yet substantial traction underfoot.

Comfortable
My 14 year old likes these. Very comfortable to hike in and not too hot. He is particular about fit and textures so this was a good find.

Comfy boot
Comfortable shoe but not really waterproof. I believe everything but the tongue is water resistant.

Great stability
Went for a pretty strenuous hike right out of the box and was impressed with the grip on a steep trail. My feet were the only part of me that weren't hurting!

I. Love. These.
First I’d like to say - I’m no “hiking shoe connoisseur”. I usually just wear any pair of cheap old boots I have. But I planned a pretty big hiking trip over the winter so I invested in a super comfy insulated pair that were wayyy too warm for fall hiking around where I live. (Midwest) so I bought this pair and they’re just as comfortable as the other pair. Not only are they comfortable but I feel so much more sure-footed in both pairs than when I wear my regular old tennies. I feel like I’ll never spend money on any other brand of shoe/boot. I want to get a casual pair too because the hikers are SO comfy! I do wish the purple accents on these were teal or coral or something other than purple. But I’ll deal. (:
