Great shoe, wrong fit for me
- Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: 10.5/10
These shoes feel like they are made really well. I just wish they made them in wide sizes. I ordered 10.5 and the toe box felt slightly narrow but I had too much room in front of my toes. I got size 10 and the length was right but the toe box was too narrow, I thought they may stretch so I wore them around the house for about 45 minutes but they were just too tight and felt like they were limiting circulation. Upon further examination my old Merrell's were size 10 wide. My feet usually run E in ice skates and I know the problems that can be caused by narrow footwear, so I had to return these.
Great Dry Weather Boot!
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: 9.5
I have used this boot for 18 months, through a variety of terrains including snow, ice, mud, sand, rock, etc. It is definitely a synthetic boot, with synthetic material upper and a synthetic rubber sole, and the lack of Vibram material does make it slippery when the sole gets wet, but on a dry day, the tread of the boot makes for excellent traction. It is especially good on granite and sandstone, and the high-top upper gives excellent ankle support without chafing. For those with wide-feet as I have, this boot is heaven. The stitching did start wearing down after a few dozen uses, but nothing that affected its performance. The performance of the boot is equal for both uphill and downhill. The bang for the buck of this boot is amazing though, and as a dry weather boot, or for those who arent looking to break the bank, this is the boot for you.
