MaxxisChronicle EXO/TR Tire - 27.5 Plus

Bring on the dirt and sand.

The Maxxis Chronicle EXO/TR 27.5in Plus Tire brings beefy functionality that crosses boundaries between flowy trail adventures one weekend and epic bikepacking adventures the next. This versatile tire meets the demand for a tire that can do it all with a tread design built to roll fast while providing ample grip in corners, loose sand, and other tricky trail situations.

The Chronicle's foldable bead is tubeless ready and features a 120 TPI casing and a dual compound for pliable durability and additional grip. For added puncture resistance, the sidewalls boast EXO protection to ward off ride-disrupting flats and keep you rolling smoothly to your destination.

Best tire no looking back

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I didn't know I could rip down single track so fast!!!! The grip is amazing corners like I'm on rails never ridden so fast in my life love these tires!

Awesome tire, with limits.

I actually really love this tire. Like any tire, if you choose a tread pattern not ideal for your riding style or trail conditions, that's on you, not the tire. The Chronicle is a high volume, low-tread, fast rolling tire. It excels in rocky terrain and hardpack, where jumbo side knobs aren't helpful. I've ridden this tire hundreds of miles in the Colorado front range and Moab. No flats or tears. On loose stuff and bomber descents... not so great, but that's not what it's made for! 30 miles single track rides with high rolling efficiency and great overall traction... absolutely! I will say that with the round profile, the sidewalls are prone to damage, and I've had two separate bike racks damage the sidewalls from rubbing.

this tire is a misfit

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I ride in the midwest, I bought this tire to bridge between my fat tire bike and my full suspension when theres not to much snow or mud and I want a bit more speed than the Fat bike offers, the issue is the nobs are way to small and rounded, I have a need for the 3.0 but no traction. this tire is in purgatory.
