Mavic Crossride SL Elite Shoe - Men's
MavicCrossride SL Elite Shoe - Men's

Tenacious traction for off-road riding.

Serving up aggressive traction for cross-country riders and racers, the Mavic Men's Crossride SL Elite Shoe maximize grips as you negotiate rugged hike-a-bike sections or shoulder your 'cross steed up muddy embankments. Great for setting PRs on your local loop and besting the competition at local races, the fiberglass-reinforced sole maximizes power transfer without the uncompromising feel of a carbon race sole.

The synthetic upper retains durability against the inevitable thrashing occurred on rocky trail networks, with strategically placed mesh for optimum ventilation as you're working up a sweat. Retaining a fine-tuned fit for your riding pleasure, Ergo straps along the bottom and mid-foot keep your foot firmly in place while the upper Ergo Ratchet cinches down tightly to prevent heel lift from sapping power transfer. Another stand-out feature is the addition of an Ergo Fit 3D Ortholite footbed, which stabilizes and supports your foot with every turn of the pedals. This high-rebound EVA footbed breathes exceptionally well to alleviate the damp sensation of sweaty cycling shoes.

Which is wider, the crossride wide or the Sidi mega?

I normally wear an 11.5 4E and ordered the 12 in these and they are just fine, plenty of width and very comfortable in the toe box.

All Around Great Shoe

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

These are my go to shoe for connecting my shoes to my pedals. The shoes fit true to size, have adequate ventilation, and are quite comfortable. Two velcro straps and the ratcheting ankle buckle provide the right amount of adjustability for whatever your ride plan for the day is.
The sole is stiff enough to be efficient and with the rubber lugs on the outsole you have plenty of traction for those hike-a-bike situations. So far I've taken these shoes through every type of terrain and dirt substance imaginable from sand, snow, and mud and have had zero durability issues.
Mavic's customer service has been phenomenal too. I broke a buckle (in travel of all things, not riding) and they were super fast at sending a replacement. I use these with spd pedals on both my mountain bikes, and a cross bike and I don't plan on switching shoes anytime soon.

Did you get the wide version? And when you ordered them, did you leave extra space for the toes? Still on the fence about getting these shoes?

Ray - I did not order the wide. But I never buy wide shoes. I bought my regular street shoe size in these and the fit was perfect.

Good stuff

Replaced my specialized with theses, so far so good!

Replaced my specialized comp mtb with these. Fit true to size, blue and black color is welcomed difference from plain black.
