Maximizing power for flowing across cross-country loops and pushing furiously at the local race series, the Mavic Men's Crossmax Pro Shoe pairs a lightweight, aerodynamic upper with a medium-stiff sole for efficient energy transfer. It's built around Mavic's Energy Frame, which supports and stabilizes your foot when you're cranking up steep inclines, plunging into techy, rock-strewn sections, and accelerating out of corners.
Ergo dials along the instep and mid-foot provide a snug, micro-adjustable fit, with the Endofit tongue hugging your foot like a glove. Inside the shoe, the Ergo Fit 3D+ Ortholite footbed dissipates jarring vibration from fatiguing your riding and racing experience. Mavic's Energy Grip Terra Carbon sole is stiff enough best the competition at your local race series, yet not overly aggressive for casual weekend loops with your friends. Contagrip rubber lugs ensure plentiful grip for hike-a-bike sections with slick roots and loose rocks.

- Q & A
Amazingly comfortable but....
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Fit: True to size
Tried these shoes out and they fit perfectly. The materials are soft and my feet stayed sweat free even in the high 80's. Amazing. Power transfer was great as well. You can tell that it's a premium shoe.
The problem came with the cleat position. Even with the cleats mounted as far back as possible, they were still too far forward. I like the cleats below the ball of my foot. These felt like they were 1/4 inch forward of that. Too bad because the rest of the shoe is perfect.
