Great Mitten!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Warm and toasty with heavy duty grip which will hold up to some abuse over time. They do run a little tight so I would recommend sizing up, especially if you plan to wear inserts.

Too Tight

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I am usually a 7.5, but these gloves were very snug. If I did not wear liners, I could bare them. But, they are form fitting to be sure. I ordered a medium.

Not quite right

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I really wanted to love these mittens. As a Raynaud's sufferer I am always trying to keep my fingers warm. I have pretty small hands, ordered size M. While they fit my hands the gathering at the wrist is pretty tight and is not adjustable. Also, the cuff is very long, which is OK, but not very wide. So if your jacket doesn't have very slim sleeves then they get pushed up. Alternatively the cuff isn't narrow enough to go under jacket sleeves. Search continues...

Very disappointed in Back Country.

I ordered these mittens as a Christmas present, with plenty of time (ordered on Dec. 17 with next day delivery). They did not arrive and I received no notifications that there was any problem. When I checked the website, it said there was “no tracking.” When I finally reached someone, I was told this was in the warehouse with an apparent error message. I chose to cancel the order, since this was intended to be a Christmas present. So bottom line, Back Country failed to deliver, did not even bother to let me know there was an issue, and the rep I spoke with DID NOT EVEN APOLOGIZE! I will be unsubscribing from Back Country emails and will not be placing orders with the company again. What a disappointing experience.

    4 years and going strong

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I LOVE THESE MITTENS SO MUCH. I bought one pair at the beginning of winter 2014, and since then they've been my only mittens. I've washed them repeatedly and used heavily through 4 winter seasons. This morning I wore them for the first time this season and they look great, only slightly worn, no rips, no tears, and seriously still the WARMEST mittens. My fingers get very cold very fast, and I have to be careful because otherwise my fingers get extremely painful and I get miserable. But these mittens keep my fingers toasty warm, and the materials are so solid. These are really worth the money. This morning I realized in horror that I only have my one pair, and what would I do without them, so here i am 4 years later buying two more pair. I wear a medium which I decided is a little snug, so I bought a large this time. And one pair in white, because white in winter is so delicious. :-)

    Best. Mitts. Ever.

I always have cold hands when I'm skiing, no matter what I have worn previously. THESE are AMAZING . Not one moment of OMG my hands are cold. I purchased the Large size since I didn't want them to be too short. I have pretty average sized hands - size 6 ring, 5'8" tall, so I have no issue with the sizing.

I purchased this item for the warmth and for the wrist strap since I am forever taking my mittens off when out skiing. Originally I accidentally purchased an XS. The company was kind enough to help me return them for a medium. The MEDIUM feels SMALLER THAN THE XS!!!. I can not get my hand in and certainly there is no room for a hand warmer. Since I bought these at the start of the season and only just recently needed them for a cold snap it is too late to return. Also to try them on I had to remove the packaging so again, unable to return them. I am very disappointed in this product.I have 3 other pairs of ski mittens, all are a size medium. Perhaps the ones I got were mislabeled? I have never worn any items other than small or medium. So Sad.

      Super warm

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These are by far the best mittens I have purchased. I wasn't crazy about the idea of spending that kind of money (what if they aren't warm, what if I don't like them). But they are great! I bought them primarily for snowshoeing and hiking. But due to the lack of snow, I have them in my car because of my long commute. They fit me fine, just a little small. I wish I would have ordered the large, but they weren't available...and still aren't. I would definitely recommend these mitts!

      • Size Bought: XS

I purchased these gloves because I was sick and tired of my hands always being cold. I had purchased other gloves for cheaper at other well-known stores and my hands were still cold. I wondered if these were worth the money and they truly are! These gloves are simply amazing! It gets to negative 30-50 below zero where I live and these gloves have stood the test! My fingers stay nice and toasty. I have very small hands/fingers (size 5 ring) and the XS fit perfectly. You will not regret buying these gloves, worth every penny.

      Warmest is right!!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Marmot isn't joking around when they say this is the warmest mitten. I bought these as a gift for my sister who lives in Bend, OR and she is stoked on how warm they are. Shoveling snow and scrapping ice off the car becomes exponentially more enjoyable and say goodbye to cold hands when skiing and snowboarding.
These mittens are super waterproof and even after hours in the snow, your hands still stay toasty warm inside. My sisters says that the best feature is how breathable these are, compared to mittens she has had in the past, they stay toasty warm and not sweaty and soggy on the inside.

She especially likes how soft the mittens are and how high they go up around her wrist which makes them easy to pull up over a jacket.

Got her a small and she has small-medium hands and they fit great.

      The Warmest

These mitts slip on easily with the help of heafty cuffs that also help keep me warm and dry. These also have a zip pocket for handwarmers but my hands have been nice and toasty so I haven't needed to use it! A great buy for the cold blooded loved one in your life!

      Warmest ski mitts

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: small

Tested out these mittens in early January after a snowstorm in Colorado. They worked great for the slopes and kept my hands very toasty. My hands are always quick to get very cold and these mittens worked great! I like the top zipper pocket to keep the hand warmer inside so it's not bouncing around inside the mitten.

      Big, Poofy Mittens!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: Runs small

I'm not going to sugar coat it. these mittens are BIG.
      - Warmest solution I have found so far
      - Zippered pockets for warmers or random small objects
      - Easy enough to get on with the long cord to pull at
      - Not quite the super mitten I was expecting below 20 degrees: fingers still get chilly

Do these have a place for hand heater packs?

Yes, they have a zippered pocket to keep hands extra cozy!

      Unanswered Question

When you remove your hand from the glove, does the liner follow your fingers and become inside out, making it difficult to reinsert your fingers into the liner finger slots?

      Unanswered Question

Does the inside of this mitten separate the fingers?

Will BackCountry be getting these mittens in black back in stock?!

      Hi there,

Unfortunately we do not currently have any more ordered to come in, sorry about that!

      Works pretty well for Raynaud's

I have horrible Raynaud's which means I'm in the ski lodge often running warm water to bring my fingers back to life. Wore these on the first ski trip and so far so good. They seem to work pretty well. The only downside is that the heat pocket is on the top of the glove and for me, I really need it under my fingertips. Great gloves so far and the medium fit best although I have pretty tiny hands.

        The best for bad circulation!

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
        • Fit: True to size

I decided to buy these mittens after reading all the reviews from other people with Raynauds - and I'm so glad I did! Running, skiing or really doing anything outdoors during Colorado winters is difficult when you have to go inside to re-warm every 30 minutes, but these mittens totally changed that. Wore them for a long run on a blustery, 15 degree (without wind chill!) day and my hands stayed reasonably warm. They did get a little sweaty but I prefer that to frigid fingers. The lining is very nice and soft as well. I've seen some people saying these have a glove liner, but it is actually a mitten liner.

I have bad Reynauds. My ski days use to be constantly interrupted by breaks to resuscitate my fingers. With The Warmest Mittens (so appropriately named) my days on the slopes are much more fun and comfortable. I highly recommend them. The only con and why I'm giving it 4 stars is that one of the wrist straps ripped off shortly after I started wearing them, which makes pulling that mitten on a bit more difficult.
