Don't skimp on snow protection.

The Marmot Men's Spire Bib Pants provide the protection you need whether you're setting a skintrack through thigh-deep powder or lapping up deep powder in the resort. Three-layer waterproof Gore-Tex protects against everything from blower powder to heavy Northwest mank, and it maintains breathability so you don't finish the day with soggy, wet baselayers. And if that's not enough, Marmot added full-length side zips that can be opened wide when you really need to lets some cool air in during those sunny spring ski tours and late-season groomer sessions at the resort.

  • Bib pants ideal for deep powder days in or out of the resort
  • Waterproof, breathable Gore-Tex shell protects from heavy snow
  • Fully taped seams ensure consistent waterproof protection
  • Adjustable suspenders can be removed during clear ski days
  • Full-length side zippers allow for quick ventilation while hiking
  • Internal gaiter forms seal around boots to keep snow out
  • Regular fit with articulated knees for natural feel while skiing

Spire vs La Meije bibs

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: large

I purchased both La Meije and Spire bibs from Marmot for snowboarding with he inttention to keep one and return the other. I kept La Meije

I tried both Large and Mediums in Meije and Large in Spire.
Meije are heavier weight and heavier duty. Straps are more beefy vs Spire , and reinforcement / ballistic cloth goes all the way around ankle whereas Spire it is only n the inside of the ankle. Overall fMeije feels like a more durable piece than the Spire .

I'm 6Ft 177lb and chose the large Meije even though they are a little large around the waist and need a belt to keep them in place if you remove the removable bib. Fit fine if you use the bib. They might run just a touch long.

Medium Meije just to tight in thighs and seat when squatting down. The Large Spires were more snug than the Large Meije. Those might run a tad small

strange fit

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: medium

I just ordered these pants and I have to return them due to fit. I'm a medium 5'6" 140lbs , and the area around the thighs is too tight and the legs don't seem to articulate very well. This would be really uncomfortable for ice climbing and bc skiing. The product seems durable and is high quality, just has a strange fit.

well made but baggy

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: medium

I invest a lot in my outdoor gear, and look for pieces that can be used for multiple purposes. I was looking for a hardshell bib geared more toward technical ski mountaineering and general ski touring but that I could still wear for wet ice and technical climbing days, or even lift accessed ski days on the other end of the spectrum. unfortunately, these pants are much baggier and wider in the leg and cuff than the pictures make it seem. They are made extremely well and the medium fit me pretty well. the issue for me is the lower leg and cuffs are still very baggy. I wanted a more technical cut. for reference i am 5' 11" and 165 lbs. I probably could have ordered a small and been ok in them but the medium fit well everywhere except for all the leg material. bummer because the material is great, the price is better than any arcteryx pro shell offerings, and the construction looks really good. these are ski pants. they would be fine for lift accessed days and even general ski touring, but they are not technically cut. if that is what you are looking for, I would recommend them. but if you want a technical cut for technical skmo and climbing, look elsewhere. the search for a multiuse hardshell type of bib continues. any suggestions???

I'm looking for the same thing! Did you find anything?

Great bibs, but run long...

Order XL and I’m 6’2” 225lbs and normally wear a 38x32 pant. These seem to run exceptionally long in the legs. Probably about a 34-35 inseam which the sizing chart states. Waist is good with the suspenders. I’m ordering a large and hopefully the waist isn’t too tight. Overall very nice quality bib at the price point. I don’t think the twice as expensive bibs will be of higher quality than these.

I don't own them yet, but I have tried them on a few times and had the same fit experience. 6'3", 215 lbs., 36+ waist, 34 inseam, and the XL fit me perfectly.
The only thing they might be lacking is some pockets on the bib portion. There is one pocket that is barely big enough to slide my iphone 8 into on the upper portion. Normal hand pockets and everything though.

Hi Travis. Did you get the large and, if so, how is the fit now?

So cool so cool, but fit is way off..

    So bummed, way too slim.
I got the green Dark Spruce/Lucky green. The look is very dynamic.. soooo cool, but they fit pretty snug in the waist, buttock and upper thighs. You can't even bend down15 degrees, they are so snug. From about the knees down they seem fine, length seems fine.

One other thing, two cargo pockets and simply making them fit like Arcteryx Stinger Bib's (I own last year's model in medium - fit is superb) and you got the best pants dollar for dollar on the market.
