Minimalist Component Jacket

Prepare yourself for any weather on your shoulder season hike by zipping up the Marmot Minimalist jacket. Start the day out with just the internal Thermal R liner jacket keeping you warm, as you head to the peak and those storm clouds get closer pull the ultra packable Gore-Tex shell out of your pack for protection from the precipitation. That Gore-Tex shell is super breathable to prevent you from overheating while you hike and weather resistant to keep you nice and dry despite the rain. Additionally the Thermal R liner traps your body heat for maximum warmth as the temperature drops later in the evening.

  • Three in one jacket for shoulder season hikes and hitting the town
  • Outer shell features a Gore-Tex membrane for weather-resistance
  • Outer shell is extremely packable so that it is always nearby
  • Thermal R liner jacket is packed with body heat trapping insulation
  • Multiple pockets hold your daily essentials to keep you prepared
  • Attached hood is adjustable to block stubborn winds

Strange Fit

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Size Bought: Large

I am 6'1" and 187lbs, I have a lean muscular build. I bought a large and will be returning it. The jacket is ok, but for my build where the space in the jacket is allocated is not a good match. For me it has too much space in the upper chest and front shoulder area, and not enough space in the back to have good mobility. I purchased this to replace an old Marmot Jacket that I outgrew (Medium).

Well back to the drawing board. Is really hard to find true athletic cuts in winter jackets that are designed for everyday use in cold climates.

Solid purchase

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Large

I ordered this jacket and will say I’m pleased. The inner layer is surprisingly warm for being as thin as it is. I live in Maryland so I’m not in the Arctic by any means, but it does get cold here. It has done good by me thus far. The outer layer layer is Gore Tex so no water gets in whatsoever. The fit is true to form. I’m 6’2”, 195 lbs Athletic build and I ordered a large. I like it a little snug, but at the same time I still have room for a sweatshirt underneath. Not very bulky which is a plus for me. Overall happy.

Warm and Lightweight

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: XL

I purchased this jacket for cooler temputures in rainy weather, The jacket performs really well, warm, waterproof and has features that make it a good jacket (velcro sleeve cuffs, drawstring bottom, zip pockets, zipout liner).
The hood on the jacket works well but I wish it had the option to zip off.
The jacket runs small. I normally wear large but for this had to buy a XL.

Loved it!

Got this for the hubby, loves it. fits well, he is 6'4, his back is covered, he likes the fact that is light but warm and not bulky.

    Jacket for Walking Dad

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Size Bought: XL

I bought this jacket for my Dad, who loves to walk everyday. The jacket is perfect for all weather conditions and 3 seasons. He tried the Large and ended up returning it because it was too tight in the arms. He's 6' and 180lbs.

    How to Measure:
For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
Measure under your arms, around the fullest part of your chest.
Measure around the thickest part of your neck, holding tape loosely.
Measure from the center of your back to your wrist with arms held out.
Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape a bit loose.
Measure around the fullest part of your body at the top of your legs.
Using pants that fit well, measure the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.
