Because your mummy bag's tight enough.

Give yourself a little extra headroom with the Marmot Limelight 2P Two-Person Three-Season Tent. Made with Marmot's Zone Construction, the Limelight 2P has a smart design that maximizes space, so you have plenty of room to kick back, relax, and play a quick game of cards with your tent mate after a long day spent hiking, climbing, or mountain biking.

Marmot gave the Limelight everything it needs to withstand the elements, like a durable 68D polyester rain fly with fully taped seams, stout DAC Pressfit aluminum poles, and a footprint to protect the tent's floor from wear and water. This particular version of the Limelight sleeps two and has two vestibules, giving you and your tent mate plenty of space to store gear out of the rain, and it comes with color coded clips and poles to make set up as painless as possible. Marmot also added a large double door and 1 rear D-shaped door to make getting gear in and out of the tent simple and convenient.

    Just about the perfect tent!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Marmot really does it all with this tent! It's easy to set up, super waterproof, and really open! I've been super satisfied with all of the wonderful features

    Roomy!!

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Lots of space in this tent and its not to heavy for backpacking. The three person version of this tent is also awesome. Great if you are looking for a more roomy camping/backpacking tent.

    Just about right

I bought mine in 2015, the poles are the standard arched version, without the elbow shown in the current model. It's been good to carry when backpacking, bicycle touring, and of course it fits when car camping.
Rain and wind haven't been an issue. Pretty good ventilation if you open the extra "window". Simple to setup between two people, takes 5-10 minutes.

      Does The Trick

Super easy to set up, lightweight makes backpacking not a chore, and is roomy enough for two people and a dog (albeit a cozy night)!

        Solid tent

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I never brought tents backpacking with me because I felt I couldn't carry them. this one wasn't bad to pack in and it's very roomy when you set it up. it's a good solid tent.

Packed size is much larger than specs

The tent is great but the packed size is 25x7. The top tent pole measures 25' so it's impossible for it to fit in a 18x7 sack.

          Is this true???

          perfect for motorcycle camping

          • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I have used it a couple of times on trips to the mountain
It has a lot of space for solo camping, and the perfect size to mount it on my motorcycle

          Love it! Bought 2!

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

We've been using this tent about a year now. I waited until I had lots of time in it before reviewing. I'm a scoutmaster and bought one for me and one for my son. We've camped in field and rocks and wind, rain hot and cold. It has been fantastic. Buttoned up against the rain it is a little air tight but the vents are great. In cold you can open or close flaps and extend or close gear flies for more or less air flow. With a little practice you can get the frame up quickly. Plenty of room for bedding

          I hate campling

          • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Sometimes life drags you on a camping trip and you have a crummy borrowed tent, and it rains for three days and your only salvation is a borrowed tarp and you vow to never go camping again. Then, life drags you on another camping trip. So you buy a tent.
After doing hardly any research, this tent seemed like it was designed well enough to not develop a puddle in the roof and it wasn't too expensive.
After spending two nights in it I can say this:
          It's easy to set up.
It has lots of nice little pockets
The zippers and stuff are really ergonomic
It has nice little toggles to tie back the flaps
The little reflective bits are nice.
It's easy to pack back up.

This tent is so nice I almost want to use it voluntarily.

          Best review ever... LOL

          Great tent for camping

High quality product, quite roomy, good ventilation. Easy to setup and pack back. Unfortunately loft is not included and I can’t find it to buy.

            Deceptively spacious; Minimal footprint

            • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Absolutely fantastic tent! Very roomy inside, ridiculously easy and dummy-proof setup, and was great protection in the rain. Marmot does it again - they thought of everything. Plenty of room for two people of decent height (5'7" & 6'0"), with room inside the tent for two backpacks. Cannot recommend this tent enough!

Solid Tent! (and great customer service)

            • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This tent will be in our gear list for a longgg time! It has performed exceptionally well and with high quality material. From zippers, to the fabric, to the quick tabs--this is quality well made through out. Marmot has a solid tent in this one. The set up and break down was an absolute breeze--even in the wind (pardon the pun). We camped on a very breezy beach and our tent went up quickly and sturdily compared to others around us. It is the perfect size for hubby and I. We are long legged and I'm not exactly in the svelte catergory but we had plenty of room. We were able to keep extra equipment inside without a problem. The curved bottom poles that extends out the sleeping area makes this a true 2p tent.

The fly kept us warm, so much so that we peeled back doors on either side to allow air to circulate. And speaking of the doors, that was one of the selling points we loved. A door for each of us to get in and out of, and to reach our gear. No stepping over each other's stuff to get to the other. As for the carrying weight that others talked about, it wasn't an issue for us. And certainly can be split if you're dual hiking. We highly recommend this tent.

Also a word about Backcountry. This was my first purchase from this site. But I will keep coming back to this company due to their customer service alone! I was having a small difficulty during ordering but was assisted by their online chat personnel who went the extra mile. A rarity. Thank you Backcountry!

Solid Tent! (and great customer service)

I agree. Had questions about discounts and chat person was great. Yes I too like backcountry.

            Unanswered Question

Hi, first of all, I would like to say thank you for the great tent! And I have a few questions:
Which side goes up when I set footprint?
How can I clean footprint - can I wash it?
How can I clean the tent itself?

            Thank you!

            excellent , highly recommen

I am a climber, and I was walking through the Chilean Patagonia, "circuit O" Torres del Paine , and this tent accompanied me 134km aprox, excellent purchase, the best buy I have ever had. excellent price, and very good quality. congratulations to the designers of marmot.good product. I love it

            excellent , highly recommen

            Awesome shot Jose!

            Great tent

            • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Marmot really knows how to make a great product that will last. While I have only used this tent a couple of times since purchasing it, I can't wait to get out and use it again. It is perfect for me, my girlfriend and our two dogs all cuddled up. The tent isn't very heavy which makes it great for hiking into your camp spot. The footprint keeps the tent clean and protected while also giving the fast pitch option for warmer nights. Can't wait to use this tent more this summer!

            Marmot produces yet again.

I looked all over for a new 1-2 P tent for my photography wild camping trips. Of all the option out there for $200 I kept coming back to this tent. I realize this tent is a littler over 5 lbs and I’m okay with that and I’ll suck it up because when it’s time to sleep I’d rather have the higher elbowed walls, floor space, and ceiling height, and the front door that fully opens up is righteous. You can add in a mesh gear hammock as there’s four eyelets in each interior corner to do so. That was one thing I was curious prior to purchase, alas it’s confirmed. So for me and my landscape photography needs, this tent is perfect. Lastly, it’s stupid easy to pitch. The single pole system is genius and makes it quite easy to set up. Find your groove for breaking it down - first time the elbow pole sections are kind awkward but then you will get the feel for how it pa is back up.

              Real weight is higher!

              • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Real trail weight is 7 lb 2 oz but on site is write 5 lb 2 oz!!! Tent is not good for backpacking.

As usual, the manufacturer tries to sell at a lower weight. I HATE when that happens, and it happens ALL THE TIME.
Thanks for the heads up. Yes, too heavy for hiking longer distances.

First, I weighed mine "out of the box" at 6 lb 9 oz. "Trail weight" for ALL tent manufacturers is calculated less the stakes, carry bag, lablels, etc. Only the poles, fly and inner tent are counted. So, you get a trail weight of around 5 lb 10 oz--8 oz more than advertised. Not accurate, I agree but please do not degrade products for your own lack of knowledge. This is a great tent, that shared with 2 people, is great for backpacking.

              Great for Car-Camping!

              • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I used this tent on a 10-day road trip through the Southwest, and it was awesome!!! It was super easy and fast to set up and take down every night and every morning, and gave us a really comfy space to sleep in! The vestibules are pretty spacious and give you lots of room for some packs or boots under there. Lots of room for two people to sleep comfortable inside, and lots of pockets space to stash gear or headlamps. Its a little on the heavy side, and I probable wouldn't want to take it backpacking. For car-camping though, this thing is perfect! Marmot does it again!

              MARMOT!

              • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is by far the best tent I've ever had. I've had it for over a year and it is still like new. It fit's 2 people comfortably, super easy to set up and easy to get back in the stuff sac.
