Unprecedented mobility and durability.

Named after the second tallest mountain in the Écrins range, the Marmot Men's La Meije Pant is designed to combat high-octane, alpine touring pursuits that require hard-wearing and adaptive outerwear. More specifically, the La Meije features a waterproof, breathable, and durable Gore-Tex Performance construction that protects you against moisture and precipitation. The fully taped seams further safeguard you from errant moisture, while the articulated knees assure unimpeded mobility when it comes to tackling tough terrain.

Additionally, the La Meije touts a removable softshell bib and suspenders that offer seamless integration with the La Meije jacket—meaning you're able to launch through bottomless powder, without having to worry about getting snow in your knickers. The myriad of pockets feature water-resistant zippers, so your necessities stay nice and dry, and the internal gaiters protect your footwear and baselayers from sneaky snow. Not to mention, the side zippers offer on-the-go-temperature regulation, so you don't feel like a swampy, hot mess when you finally reach the summit.

La Meije Bibs vs. Spire Bibs.

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: large

I purchased both La Meije and Spire bibs from Marmot for snowboarding witht he inttention to keep one and return the other.
I tried both Large and Mediums in Meije and Large in Spire.
Meije are heavier weight and heavier duty. Straps are more beefy vs Spire , and reinforcement / ballistic cloth goes all the way around ankle whereas Spire it is only n the inside of the ankle. Overall feels like a more durable piece.
I'm 6Ft 177lb and chose the large Meije even though they are a little large around the waist and need a belt to keep them in place if you remove the removable bib. Fine if you use the bib. They might run just a touch long
Medium Meije just to tight in thighs and seat when squatting down. The Large Spires were more snug than the Large Meije.

Purchased these as I found that women's bib pants were limited. I am 5'4 and 135 lbs. I was worried that they fit a little too snug around the thigh and bum area. (mens fit smaller in those areas anyway.) ended up taking them out to the cabin for a test trip and they did great! Mobility was fine. Found that it was easy to remove and replace the overall top when I needed to use the restroom as well

The best pair of bibs I have ever owned. Gore tex and very warm. Straps are comfortable. Highly recommend!

      Excellent for Touring or Resort

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Medium

I've used these bibs for just about everything--bluebird touring, booting ridgelines with nuking winds, riding the resort, waiting out a rainstorm, and am happy to say they've performed flawlessly. There's a lot of great things going on here--waterproof and breathable Gore-Tex, removable bib and suspenders (love them though, so haven't taken them off), actually useful pockets, side zips for venting, and lots of durability. They do a great job regulating temperature, which has come in especially handy during high-exertion tours and climbs. Fit is great--just enough articulation without being overly boxy or baggy. I'm about 6' even and the mediums fit perfectly. Highly recommended!

      Bomber Bibs

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: Runs small

These bibs are awesome. I originally looked around the site for bibs and pants with suspenders before finally deciding on these Marmots. It was a no brainer for me due to the price point with the features that were offered.

Gore Tex 3 layer shell, removable bib, beefy suspenders, multiple pockets, burley zippers and the perfect fit. These pants kept me warm no problem with just a base layer underneath on a 28 degree day and kept the water out when the snow started to melt.

I did have to go up to a medium due to the somewhat awkward sizing of the product. I am 5'4 140 lbs and the legs and chest fit me well enough in a small but the waist was too small so i bumped up to a medium and have no regrets.

will the suspenders attach to the pants if i decide not to use the bib?

Hey Wasatch Rider, no the suspenders attach to the bibs. If the bibs are zipped off, the suspenders will not be usable. Let me know if you have any other questions or anything else I can do to help out! My direct line is 8101.204.4547 or my email is cojohnson@backcountry.com. Cheers, Connor
