Why We Like The Avant Featherless Hooded Jacket

A new style from Marmot, the Women's Avant Featherless Hooded Jacket is impressively lightweight, reliably warm, and perfectly packable, making it great for any adventure. The lightweight synthetic insulation is kept in place by secure baffle construction, meaning you won't be subject to any cold spots from migrating insulation, and it will continue to insulate you even when wet. The face fabric is durable enough for this jacket to be worn as a standalone piece on dry days, yet is sleek enough to slip comfortably under a shell or heavier jacket, and the elastic binding on the hood and cuffs keeps them securely in place as you move. Marmot's signature Angel-Wing Movement allows full articulation of your arms without the body of the jacket riding up, adding comfort and mobility, and the drawcord hem finishes off the package by sealing out any cold wind from entering into your layers and giving you a chill.

Warm jacket

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Keep me warm, light weight, no complains! Would love to get more colors if possible.

Pefect jacket

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my third Avant featherless hoody. My first one last me 5 years. I'm wearing the second one, and keep this one for later. It keeps me warm and it is water-resistant (dry fast).

Great overall jacket - The sleeves are a bit long

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using it as a base layer when working on cold environments (work on boats and in polar regions), and also as an outer layer when climbing and just camping and hanging out outdoors. It is very warm. My only comment is that the green turquoise color got stains very quickly and I am not able to remove them with anything. Also for sizing, I got the XS because the S had the arms too long and the shoulders looked weird. But then the XS feels to small and tight sometimes.

Great jacket

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great jacket. Shape is great and it is very warm. I am in WI and just getting into the cold season but so far it handles these 20 degree temps well

Love this jacket!

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

This jacket is one of my favorite. I have the teal one and I've been using it for 2 years now. Very cozy and keeps me warm. And even works well in rain. Only complaint is I'm on the athletic/curvier side and this run a bit tight I wish I would have sized up because it is hard to layer. So that is why I gave this 4 stars instead of 5. Not a bad jacket at all though, I still love it! I highly this product recommend as a great budget friendly option!

Runs small..puffy and warm

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The chest is super small so I'm having some trouble with the size though I ordered my size.

So good, I've bought three

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this coat. My first one- I have put it through the ringer. Ripped & patched holes, washed in the washing machine (always use down wash), stuffed in packs and compression sacks, and rained and snowed on, climbed in, skied with, sweated on... It's still going strong. Got a second in a different color, for fashion purposes. Recently bought a third because this is my favorite coat, and if they stop making it, I want to have one in stock!

Vegan Friendly and WARM!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have been looking for a Vegan Friendly Winter Jacket that’s WARM for soooo long! FOUND IT!! Thanks to you! It’s lightweight and even BETTER than down because animals don’t get hurt but also, if it gets wet, it dries quickly! I live predominantly in Minnesota where the temps get down to around -20 below zero in the winter months- not counting windchill (which it has gotten down yo -40 below at times and there was a week where it was -60 below with the windchill). Needless to say- I live in a place where the weather tries to kill you! Most of the winters I’ve had coats that.. well, keep you from freezing (literally) but are still a bit chilly when confronted with those temps (although I know a fellow here that runs around in short sleeve shirts in the winter and loves it! No jacket ever!) Finally! Eureka! I’ve found a warm coat! That’s cruelty free!!! Yaaay! I deal with chemical sensitivities, so the things I wear need to be non toxic and of a lighter hue. I tend to be a bit of a “canary in the mine” with things, and finding clothes can be a bit…. VERY frustrating. But Marmot! You are awesome! I know that with your company, I can find great jackets that I’m not allergic to! Yaaay! And you have them in such fun colors! (Thank you for making coats in lighter colors, love it!) it has a very feminine fit and is sooo warm! I was able to be out in below zero weather and actually feel WARM! Thank you so much for making a cruelty-free featherless hoodie! Love it so much! Sometimes I go to Arizona and California for work, and these also keep you warm in the weather there (a bit less deadly- but a dry cold in the desert and a wet cold in the Bay Area). This is really such a great jacket! Can’t recommend this enough! No matter WHERE you are in the winter months! I’m five foot two and weight about 118. I got a size small and it fits well! Pictured below is me with my beloved Mishka ♥️♥️♥️ (In Arizona) Seriously- thank you Marmot for making this coat!

Love this coat!

Cute and warm! I’m 150 lb and 5’6” and the large fits well with plenty of room for layers.
