    Open with the Ophir.

Opening the door to the climbing gym on your first day of class is sort of like opening the door to a new life. What used to be planning trips for beach vacations will soon be driving to whatever climbing destination has the best weather. The only difference between now and the future is that you still have the Mammut Ophir Harness. It looked clean and pristine the first time you hang from it, and it's still just as safe now that it's packed into a dirty backpack for another weekend climbing trip.

    Great for gym use

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I use it mainly in the gym and it's really convenient to get it on and off. I am 5'2 and around 120lbs and got it in M, but if i could reorder i'd get it in size S because i have to cinch it to maximum tightness to get the right fit and there's no more room for adjustment.

    Great all around harness

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

love this harness for ice and rock, comfortable, low profile, the gear loops are firm and have some texture so really easy to clip

Fantastic and Well Worth the Sale Price

I bought this harness last month as a present for my girlfriend (who's new to climbing) for the sale price. We finally got the chance to climb this weekend and the harness only reaffirmed my faith in the quality of Mammut's products. A great entry level harness for a great entry level price.

      Works great!

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

As far as beginner climbing harnesses go, this one is pretty standard! It does the job and so far so good. It is kind of annoying that the leg straps don't adjust at all. If you tend to have more muscular legs in comparison to your waist, I might suggest looking elsewhere
