Haldigrat HS Hooded Jacket

Mammut made the Men's Haldigrat GS Hooded Jacket for mountaineering and backcountry touring with rugged waterproofing and light compactness in mind. Its Dry Technology Pro membrane boasts outstanding waterproof, breathable ratings for phenomenal protection from snowfall, powder slashes, and ice. A 3-layer construction makes this jacket surprisingly thin and light so you can pack it away without a problem. There are long zippers under each sleeve to amplify ventilation for skin tracks and sweaty ascents. The powder skirt is removable to transition from touring to mountaineering with ease.

Great Outer Layer for Winter Fun

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Have now worn just 4 days of Northeast skiing but have been through high winds, light rains, and whiteout snowsqualls. I have the jacket and pants and they are a great outer layer. Completely weatherproof. Plentiful pockets in the right places and great zipper systems. Only regret is I can not find a way to roll and contain the hood, or detach the hood

Great jacket

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

Returned this as I couldn't quite complete the look. But, I really wanted to keep it. Very high quality jacket with lots of little features you'll appreciate on the mountain. 6'0'', 165lbs, M fit perfect.

Nice material and good design except...

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

I'm super average build 5'10". 39" chest 32 waist 170lbs yet the large swamped me and medium was just a little too tight across the shoulders and in the arms. Also the collar is really high which is great in a storm but looks like it might really flap around when not zipped all the way up.

Awesome Jacket - sizing was perfect

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

After reading some initial reviews, and going against my better judgement, I ordered a Large in this jacket. As soon as I opened it I knew it was a mistake. I could do backflips inside this tent. Immediately I returned and ordered the Medium. I am 6'1" with a thin build (175 lbs) and I wanted to be able to have an insulated jacket under this but not a bunch of wasted room. I find the chest and mid section still plenty roomy and not restrictive, and the waist is tight enough to keep unwanted snow/updraft from getting in. Of course the details and quality on this jacket are top notch. This is my favorite shell of all time!

Great jacket

Familiarity:
I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Gave it as a gift. It suited their need for offering great protection against snow and cold weather.

Sizing is just wrong

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

First off, i own a LOT of Mammut gear because i appreciate the trim fit and high quality. However, to call a medium in this jacket trim fit is a gross understatement, it's tight...everywhere. I am 5'11" and 153 lbs so not a heavyweight by any means, and I simply cannot layer under this thing beyond a mid weight base layer. Arms are quite long, which is OK with me since mine are long, but the cuffs do hang to my knuckles which is definitely at the high end of length. What is really mystifying is how tight the arms and underarm areas are. Fits like a sausage casing in these areas, and I have the arms of a cyclist! :-) AND the fit around the neck and chin when fully zipped and wearing a helmet is just ridiculously tight. Too bad....the quality, pockets, fabric, color, and features are all first rate. Really wanted to love this thing but I am returning today
