Recommended Use:

It’s crème, not cream.

Mad Alchemy Pro Plus Chamois Crème works just like Mad Alchemy’s other chamois crèmes, except that Pro plus has the gentle citrus scent that you can’t live without. The scent shouts CLEAN. It shouts HEALTHY. It shouts LEMON!

Mad Alchemy Pro Plus lubricates and protects you in the area you need it most—your chamois. Essential oils are added to the crème to keep your skin smooth and prevent the growth of fungus and bacteria. Pro Plus is vegetable-based for your safety and peace of mind.

  • Irresistible citrus fragrance

love the smell

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

first product Ive ever used and Ive ordered more.

Awesome chamois creme

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Ran through of my last jar so I ordered it again to get ready for this riding season...great product.

Does what it says

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Have gone through a container, from easy training rides (10-20 miles) and on 50 to 100 mile rides (centuries, fondos, grans, etc.) Works fantastic, keeps your skin well lubricated, no chafing, and no issues post ride or long term, it won't clog pores or cause saddle sores. Great quality ingredients, very easy to wash off of skin and just as important, washes right out of chamois in shorts, bibs, or cold weather tights. This is my go to, most often used chamois cream now.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I've tried Mad Alchemy products in the past and like the results. This creme is cool on the skin, smells good, seems to provide skin care to some extent (not a scientific result, just my opinion), lasts just fine for the ride times I put in these days (2-3 hrs) and most importantly, it works. The old adage, "a little dab will do ya" seems apropos for me meaning, I don't smear it on all over my chamois....I just apply it to where I need it applied....just my personal choice.

My only complaint was in the shipping....the jar was open in the packaging and some product (maybe 1/4 of the contents) was spilled out inside the bag. I'm not sure what happened but that was a downer.

Good Stuff

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: one size

Have used their embrocation products and this chamois cream is of the same high quality ingredients. Goes on well and is effective. Nice smell, too.

Long Lasting Comfort Aid

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Seems to be effective longer than other products I've tried without all those random chemicals.

Open the jar and you get a nice, mellow, pleasing sent. Creamy to the touch, like Noosa Yogurt. Goes on as you would expect. I find that it works just like the Euro stuff but without the menthol kick. I like to use this stuff all the time, and find it works very well up to 6-8 hours if you have a solid chamois to go with it.

smooth like butter on a muffin

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Good consistency and nice fresh natural citrus scent, I'm hooked. So far it has held up well to longer rides in warm dry desert riding, hoping it will last on the real scorchers. I can't compare it to many other brands but the consistency is more like a thick body lotion than a paste.

    Hooked after first use

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Wanted to branch out and try something other than Assos due to my inability to even pronounce several of the ingredients of the Assos chamois creme. As soon as I opened the container of the Mad Alchemy product, I could tell this was high quality stuff. The creme smells of citrus and pretty much did what it was supposed to during my 60 mile ride. I've been using this product on my taint after showering after my ride and it provides a nice cooling and healing sensation that allows me to ride comfortably all summer long. I highly recommend this stuff and it seems like a great company as well.

    my favourite, for the price

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

i've tried almost many different types (notably not doc's skin care or morgan's blue) but this does the best job for the price, imho. I lather up well before every ride. it seems to spread better (and therefore you use less) and provides good lubrication. all time favourite cream is dz nuts but it costs a ton and you have to use a lot of it for adequate coverage. dz nuts also is nice to treat areas of chafe after you've showered and dried off.

    Works Well

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I had run out of my supply of Assos chamois cream, so I thought I would try something new, and ran across this from Mad Alchemy. I heard rave reviews over their embrocation, so I gave it a shot.

I have been using this for a couple of weeks now, and I can say that I like it. I like the scent, it is kind of fresh smelling, and does linger for a while. It doesn't seem to have any of the menthol cooling effect of the Euro styles, but does the job requested.

The consistency is thinner than Assos. While the Assos is like a thicker paste, this is thinner, like a hand lotion. This really helps the absorption. I cannot say how long the tub will last, and I am guessing this is a big YMMV, but after a month there doesn't seem to be much of a dent in the tub.

So, if you want to try something different, and are tired of smelling like analgesic cream, give it a shot.
