For all slopes, up and down.
The Louis Garneau Women's Versant Snowshoe is a high-performance snowshoe for steep ascents and easy access to summits. Tough as nails, the frame is built from aircraft-grade 7075-T6 aluminum to ensure lightweight toughness and durability through all the challenges on the trail, while the Weave ripstop decking offers exceptional abrasion-resistance and an essentially puncture-proof design.
Traxion SS crampons provide multi-directional traction over any terrain and snow conditions you might encounter, and the Contact Pro harness utilizes a 360-degree retention system to secure both your heel and forefoot in maximum comfort, as well as a dual Boa locking mechanism for customized adjustment without pressure points or slippage. A Freeflex pivot provides shock-absorption and free foot rotation on its axis for a more efficient stride, while the Gradient heel risers reduce calf fatigue when you're on your way up.

- Familiarity: I've used it several times
Got these for my girlfriend. She loves them! They are large enough to keep her well afloat in the dry snow here in Utah. We haven't had much snow this winter, but we've tried them out in about 12 inches of snow at the deepest a few times. We did steeps and flats with great comfort. The only think she wishes it had was a better system for raising and lowering the heel risers.
