Bib-free comfort.

Figuring out how to gracefully rock bib shorts with a tank top in spin class can be a little awkward, so it's always good to have a pair of Louis Garneau Men's Optimum Shorts on stand by for days when the weather or your schedule won't let you ride outside. Stretchy fabrics provide support where you need it while maintaining free range of motion as you transition between seated high cadence intervals and out of the saddle sprints, while compressive leg bands ensure everything stays in place to minimize potential bunching. The elastic waistband rests comfortably against your skin, with drawstring adjustability so you can dial in the fit and turn your focus to the workout at hand.

  • Bib-free cycling shorts for spin class or outdoor riding
  • Multi-density chamois provides comfortable support
  • Soft elastic waistband with adjustable drawstring
  • Powerband cuffs hold leg hems in place
  • Reflective accents increase visibility to others

Good value and quality.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

This is my first "serious cycling shorts" purchase. I tried a couple of the cheap Amazon brands...they were okay but cheaply made. When CC started their TdF sale, I took a chance and bought one...I immediately bought six more. There is a huge difference between the Optimum shorts and the Amazon cheap brands from Asia. Suddenly I'm riding in comfort for two hours, versus stopping at around 45 minutes due to soreness/numbness. A racing saddle I had thought was rough on my backside suddenly was comfortable.

I don't know if I'll ever splurge for the $100+ shorts, but I'm very happy with these, especially at the sub-$40 sale price.

I followed the sizing chart here on CC and it fit perfectly.

Awesome shorts

  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Large

I haven’t had a problem with any LG Jersey, bib or shorts, these fit the bill nice in every way. I would definitely recommend!

Perfect

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Reasonable price, good fit. What more could you ask for?
I have a different brand of shorts for a similar cost from my local cycle shop but while they fit fine the padding seems to be too much in the front and no draw strings, so I grabbed a couple pair of these for comparison and these are now my favorite. Fit great, padding feels better under my sit bones and I believe ALL cycle shorts/tights should have draw strings! Now that I have my fit dialed in, I'll definitely be back for more Garneau gear!

Great for the $

  • Fit: True to size

For the money, these shorts are great. Comfortable. Just enough compression. My only quibble: the waist band is a little itchy. Wearing size M. 5'11" / 165 lbs.

Good value.

  • Size Bought: XL

I use LG gear, bibs and jerseys, but got these for the trainer. Wanted something easy and comfortable as well as avoiding extra wear and tear on my more expensive road kits. I am in between sizes but found from experience to go up a size with LG. These shorts are consistent with other gear concerning size. They have worked well for me and recommend them for a decent short at a fair price. As a side note, Clayton at Competitive Cycling is a great guy to work with.

Great for road biking

    Comfortable shorts

    Great shorts for casual rides

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I mainly use these shorts for easy rides where I don't have to worry too much about the performance of the short. The price is also perfect and was the main reason why I purchased more than one. Overall these are a great day to day bike short.
