If you are in the market for a great pair of compression bib shorts, the Louis Garneau Women’s Neo Power Motion Bib Shorts will answer all your on-the-road requirements. Long hours in the saddle will never be a problem with the Neo Power Motion Bib Shorts.
Made from the Power + Lycra that has the stretch you’ll want for them to remain comfortable, but also with the compression you’ll need to be efficient. Compression fabrics aid in the circulation of the body, which will have a positive impact on your performance. Getting a good pair of compression bibs also protects the legs against the vibrations on the road which can fatigue muscles. Compression fabrics are essential for isolating and supporting muscle groups which means you will feel less fatigue and be able to recover faster. The material has been cut to shape to the female form while in a riding position. The eight panel cut will work well with your body, conforming to your required range of motion.
Louis Garneau has reduced the number of seams required, and utilizes a seamless inner leg, which has been designed to be seamless in order to reduce the bulkiness by eliminating excess material. You won’t have fabric bunching up at the saddle interface, which reduces the possibility for sore-causing friction. And where there are seams, Louis Garneau uses flatlock seams to avoid irritating friction and prevent indentations from forming on your legs. Another point of contention on ladies’ bibs is how tight to make the leg band. There should be an element of compression, but not enough to cause unwanted bulges. Louis Garneau solves this problem with the Powerband, which is a compression cuff that supports the thigh without causing undo pressure. The 10.5” inseam will mean that the leg cuff hits at that perfect point on the thigh below the thickest part of the leg but still high enough above the knee to keep the tan line at your casual short level.
For the bib straps, a Power Mesh is employed for its excellent breathability. It’s important that the uppers don’t overheat the torso and allow for the required flexibility you’ll need when in the drops. To help accomplish this, the Power Mesh has a stretch trim on the straps which is soft and flexible, ensuring you’ll feel comfortable the entire ride. And then to keep you visible in low level lighting, reflective accents have been added to the back and on the underside of the legs.
For the insert, Louis Garneau turns to the Airgel Chamois. This is an all-day comfort chamois due to the high-density foam working in sympathy with the perforated gel inserts. Using high-density perforated memory foam, this insert allows for a smooth and consistent cushioning over all areas of the undercarriage, resulting in a complete lack of friction or pinching points. Since the insert is perforated and has multiple layers, transferring moisture is a cinch. Adding perforated gel inserts enhances the comfort and breathability. Vents at the front help maintain breathability without sacrificing comfort.

I really wanted to like these bib shorts. I am in search of a pair of shorts with good compression, longer inseam length and good grip in the leg bands so they don't ride up my leg. These have decent compression and the longer inseam but the leg band is totally bogus. All they did was turn under the bottom of the leg and hem it. Decent quality shorts use a different fabric from the short that has some grip to it. There is nothing to keep these shorts from riding up your leg. For the price, these are a big disappointment. I did like the length of the shorts though and the bib was very comfortable with a good chamois. My search continues!
Gift to my girlfriend. This is her first bib shorts and she likes how wide is the chamois. It is pretty soft and the short overall looks great. Runs small, so go for one size up than you normally use.
