Louis GarneauMondo Evo Bib Shorts - Men's

Accelerate to new levels.

Back for another year, the Louis Garneau Mondo Evo Bib Shorts are still standing their ground as one of the highest tech compressive bib shorts we carry. The 2017 model features all of the technology we've grown to love, with three high-tech fabrics that pull together for the greatest performance possible, and more special edition colors than before. We're still happy to be offered the exclusive rights to the Mondo Evo bib shorts, selling our own models designed with Louis Garneau for Competitive Cyclist and Backcountry for another year of high performance racing.

The Mondo Evo Limited Edition bib shorts incorporate advanced Cell-Ion fabric, as they did in previous years, to provide form-fitting compression. Cell-Ion contains Celliant, the ground-breaking technology that returns reflected energy to the body to trigger increased bloodflow and oxygen levels. As a result, you'll find superior performance, less fatigue, and greater overall comfort than other, less compressive shorts. While many shorts offer UPF 30 for long rides, the Mondo Evo goes above to provide a hefty UPF 50, shielding your legs from harsh UV exposure on long summer rides where sunscreen doesn't hold up to sweat. Cell-Ion is made with 17% premium Invista Lycra, providing maximum stretch beyond the basic knit of most kits. This upgraded Lycra is the secret to the shorts' extreme range of motion, exceptional return, and a compressive, supportive fit that holds your muscles in place to reduce fatigue.

Carbon X Mesh panels make up the bib and straps, increasing wicking and air movement where hindered airflow can be beyond damaging to your performance. The textured mesh won’t stick to your back and creates a cooling zone between your skin and the fabric. Also featuring Resistex carbon fiber, this technical fabric is boosted with anti-static properties and enhanced controlled stretch and sun protection. The Mondo Evo Bib Shorts incorporate wide Aero Lazer bands at the thighs to hold the hems in place without grippers, straying away from the silicone print that most shorts require. A high spandex content in the fabric lends its self to 4 way stretch that happily returns into place without fatiguing for years of rigorous use.

As on previous models, the bib shorts are supported by LG's 4Motion chamois. The insert's 3D pre-shaped wings have a mesh-vented split in the back to offer superior ventilation that allows the pad to move with you without causing uncomfortable bunching. Mesh lined perforations in the front of the chamois aid in increased air circulation, working to keep you cool and wick away moisture. The multi-density, perforated memory foam is ergonomically designed with a central channel that relieves pressure during long rides. The seamless, four-way stretch 4Motion chamois features a carbon top sheet to control odor and keep you feeling fresh from mile 1 to 100.

Rounding out the material construction, these shorts feature the bells and whistles you can expect from such a high level kit: ten-panel muscle hugging construction, seamless inner thighs, a back radio pocket, back and bottom reflective logos, and flatlock seams.

30 miles

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small

I ride every weekend, and more if I can. I've been happily using Louis Garneau Mondo Evo bib shorts for years. BUT after about 30 miles, definite comfort issues with the chamois.

Also note that compared to other manufacturers and even other Louis Garneau shorts (Fit Sensor, for instance) these run small. I wear a medium Fit Sensor and a large Mondo Evo.

Better than I expected

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

I also purchased the Assos T.Equip_S7 Bibs, and I was surprised, but I think I like these better. The chamois really is very good on these bibs. On long rides, my sits bones usually get sore. But these shorts are about as good as I've tried. If I stand periodically, I can minimize discomfort, and the overall fit is really good for me. I have large thighs, so the shorts are tight at the bottom. I'm hoping they don't breakdown or stretch too much with use, but time will tell. Putting on knee warmers requires care though, not to strep the shorts too much.

Overall quite pleased.

Reeeeeeal nice

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

This is my first pair of bibs. It’s the only way to fly! Just the right amount of padding. They look cool, too. Git ya some!

Comfortable in and out of saddle

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Large

Straps are wide and comfortable, chamois very comfortable , and this from some one who recently had surgery in a very uncomfortable spot.

Leg bands really tight

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: Medium

I just received the Mondo Evo bib shorts I ordered in medium. The leg bands are exceptionally tight and narrow. So much so that I will be returning them. I have LG bibs and all of them are size M. These are the first that I have had this problem with. I'm 6-00, 180 lbs and my waist size (33 in) fits with the size chart. I love the pad in these shorts and that is the reason I purchased them.

Solid bibs

This is my second pair of LG mondo evo and they haven’t disappointed. They are very comfortable and my go to bib for long rides. Highly recommend.

Comfy bibs !

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

Bought these on sale here, and I find these very comfy so far. I'd say they run true to size - snug, but not too tight like some bibs. I haven't done any centuries in them yet, but they seem up to the task ! These are slightly larger than the Louie Garneau Course Superleggera bibs ( which I like too ).
