Returned it.

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

This is a .1 microns and not .2 filter and I guess I wanted a .2 so I returned it. I'm not 100% clear on if this is a filtration system or purification system the title says it is both but the description makes me wonder. I wish the product copy included more information for me to feel more confident on my purchase. I would do some solid research on all the options before jumpping on this one.

Solid product

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Super helpful when you don't want to carry a lot of water. I went on a 30 mile backpacking trip along a river and I didn't have to carry any water and just filled up when I was thirsty. It saved a lot of weight in my bag and I never ran out of water.

Love it!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've had my lifestraw bottle for about a year now, taken it backpacking and camping several times and it's still holding up great! I love that it comes with the clip so I can clip it onto my backpack.

Good for on the go...

Lifestraw is a good companion when on the move and not having time to treat your water source. Only wish the filter was .1microns and not .2, bacterial diseases such as Leptospirosis come from bacteria that are .12microns and can easily slip through this filter. If you know your water source is safe from such bacteria, WEPAAA! If not, better safe than dead.

    Good backup

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is great for backpacking if you don't want to carry a bunch of water with you and know you will be near water sources. It filters great, the pull on the straw is a bit tighter than I would prefer, but the flow is good. Iv'e also dropped it several times full, on rocks and all sorts of sharp stuff and it is just fine, so durability is good.

How much does it weight ( when empty )?

Hey Mark it is 7.8oz when empty. Contact me directly with any additional questions.
