Great fit

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

The female Finale's don't go too far up in sizes so I bought these in a 42 for a women 9 street size. They fit perfectly, and are really great shoes for beginners transitioning into intermediate climbers!

Great for new climbers

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Bought as my first climbing shoe, and if you're a new climber don't hesitate to grab these. Awesome shoe for 6 months until I started V5 problems. The toe profile just isn't as aggressive as I would like for those tiny footholds you often have on V5+ (and some V4).

As for sizing I wear a 9.5 US men's street shoe. I bought a 42 and wish I had bought a 40 as they do stretch a little bit over time (leather). For now I just wear socks to fill out the shoe a bit more.

Great All Around

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I am a beginner climber, and these shoes hit all the marks for a great climbing shoe. They aren't too tight for wide feet, they stay comfortable, and they have good grip.

Surprisingly Comfortable

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

As a new climber, it seems as though these are the perfect beginner shoe. They're super comfortable, leave a little to grow into ability wise, and are versatile enough for longer days at the gym, or out on some rock somewhere.

Great Shoe

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I'm an new climber, I've been using it primarily for bouldering and they've been a great time. I have a wide foot and these accommodate that well.

Everyone loves this shoe

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The only reason why I didn't is because I got the wrong size. This was my first shoe, leather shoes stretch a lot, so in time, i began to get a little heel lift while climbing. The other downside was its heavy in comparison to other shoes, learning to swap toes on small foot holds was difficult in these, but as a beginner at that time, I could be a bit biased. Lots of my friends have moved to these from their scarpa origins and La sportiva tarantulaces and immediately have gotten better.

Yeah, I like my Tarantulaces but wanted a stiffer sole and tighter fit to move up to the smaller wall pieces at 5.9-5.10. The Finale fits my foot like a glove and is much more precise for edging.

Sweet, easy fit.

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Like these for the non-aggressive fit. I just size them down a size. Not much break-in needed. Affordable too.

Great first shoe, comfort fit

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This was my first climbing shoe and its perfect for getting into climbing. The shoe preforms as a bit of a jack of all trades, master of none. It edges on face climbs pretty well, and while i haven't crack climbed in these much, they where decent at it from what i could tell. They are a great shoe to buy comfort fit, and they allow a beginner to try everything without having to purchase multiple, expensive, specialty shoes. There are better options on the market for a more experienced climber, but if you are looking for a good shoe just to get your feet wet and let you stop renting at the gym then this is a fantastic option.

Very good comfort shoe

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I needed a comfortable shoe for rope climbing. I use the Solutions for bouldering over the past 5 years, but lacked a comfortable shoe for vertical climbing. I was looking for the Nagos, but heard that the Finale replaced them recently. I went to local store and tried on all the La Sportiva for sizing. I measure a size 8 Mens on the floor scale, wear a size 9 running shoe (Brooks, Asics, Nike), and a size 38 in Solutions, Genius, Futura, and Tarantula. These shoes fit tighter than I expected, so I ended up wearing a 39. This size for me was comfortable, something a can climb in for 1 hour straight, but still tight enough to edge on small chips. The Finale do run a bit smaller than the Nagos, maybe a half size to a full size smaller, so be sure to try them on before ordering. The Finale are great, comfortable, good looking, only $75 on Cyber Monday, and perfect for casual rope climbing. I would recommend them.

Awesome Laced Starter Shoes

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have pretty weird shaped feet so I always go with laces when it comes to climbing shoes for a more catered fit. I use these shoes whenever I go to the gym and I can wear them for hours at a time! My one caveat is that some of the stitching on the inside of the heel got a little funky and rubs against my heel pretty good after a while. Otherwise they're awesome flat shoes plenty grippy for the bouldering I do!

All day comfy, entry level shoe

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 43.5

I bought these to replace my worn out Katanas as my primary gym shoe. I like to climb in comfy neutral shoes in the gym so when I take my aggressive Skwamas outdoors it feels like an advantage. These were comfy right out of the box and very sticky. They aren't very helpful on the overhangs and I don't use them when bouldering at the gym, but overall I'm satisfied with them, especially for the price. I purchased the same size as my Katanas and Muiras but my toes aren't curled at all in these. They also feel like they might be a little tighter on the sides. I've got a fairly wide foot so that probably isn't a concern for most people. Since they are already plenty long enough, I'm hoping they will stretch outwards around my foot. I would recommend these as a good entry level shoe for a beginner climber or as a cheap all day shoe for non-technical outdoor climbing.

Great Beginners

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 42

I was a beginner when I got these back in Sept 2016. Boulder and top rope indoors. Dunno if it was the shoes, but they helped me progressed to v5 and 12a. Some slippage in the heel when needing aggressive hooking. Don't have much to compare off of as a novice.

First pair of shoes

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Size Bought: 44.5

This is my first pair of climbing shoes. I've rented from the gym before but of course those are already broken in from hundreds of feet and barely and traction. Before I ordered these i tried a few different types of shoes on at the gym to get a feel for what felt right. The LA Sportiva brand contoured to my feet better than the others and felt the best. I got a full size smaller than what I had been wearing at the gym because these are unlined leather it they'll stretch a little more. A good fit for a first pair of shoes is tight enough for your heel not to slide out on heel hooks but not to tight to were they're killing your feet after a few moves. These things feel amazing tho I would definitely buy another pair!

A Great Flat Profile Shoe

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 43.5

I've been looking for a good flat profile shoe that performs well and I finally found it with the finale. I wanted to supplement my more aggressive shoes with an all rounder that would work outside as well as in the gym. As expected, they work well in pretty much any terrain with the exception of overhangs. I brought them to Joshua Tree and they seemed perfectly at home on the slabby nature of the park. My only criticism is that I wish they were a bit stiffer in the mid sole. I believe that this would make them much more comfortable for crack climbing. The heal stretches about 1/4 a size which does not seem to affect the performance much at all, but is something to consider when it comes to sizing. I wear a size 43 in the katana lace and find that the 43.5 fit perfectly for a snug fit.

Good Shoe, Rough on the Heel

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 11

This shoe replaced the Tarantulace that I had for roughly 7 months. I decided to get a half size bigger than my shoe size as I didn't want to deal with toe pain. Instead I traded toe pain for heel discomfort. My heel is rubbed raw by the end of a session. I've started taping both heels now. Other than that this is a great shoe and a step up from the Tarantulace. Heel is a little more aggressive which I like for bouldering.

I have the same issue, My heel gets torn up pretty bad in a day.

La Sportiva Finale

I have had this show for a couple months now and used them for indoor and outdoor a handful. They take about two or three solid sessions but once they do they are extremely comfortable and have a great performance. It's an awesome first shoe for the aspiring climber!

    Comfortable And Reliable Shoe

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 42

The finale is replacing the Nagos. This version will have a more higher performing heel, but still will be very comfortable, like the nagos are famous for.

    Comfortable And Reliable Shoe

I am really shocked for what happened to me with this shoe.
I bought them on december 8th and, literally, after 3 uses, the leather on my right shoe ripped.
I was on the gym climbing and then went to take the shoes off and noticed that I had my finger showing.
I need help on this issue, I need a new pair of shoes. Every product I have bought from backcountry has been pretty good quality and I really hope I get a new pair or shoes, or my money back so I can buy a different model.

Oh no! I'll give you a call right now, to get this taken care of.

    Comfortable and reliable shoe

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 42

My customer took these to Mt Whitney and I am sharing his report. He doesn't climb regularly, so his feet were not in shape for a very tight shoe.

    Comfortable and reliable shoe

    Very Comfortable

    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 42

Great starter shoes and perfect for a beginner climber. My street shoe size 10,5(us), 43,5(eu) and I sized for 42,5. These shoes all around hug my feet pretty well. Overall, I'm pretty happy with these shoes. 3 mounths after they did stretch half size. (1,5 size down)
