Why We Like The Rydr Pant

The only way to make a full day of bouldering at your favorite local site better is to do it with the Kuhl Rydr Pant, which features stretchy fabric, a gusseted crotch, and articulated knees for comfort in the crux. This slightly stretchy cotton twill pant has a wider-leg for thick-thighed athletes so you won’t feel constricted when you go for a heel hook. The double-needle bar tacks and two-layer pockets and hems provide extra reinforcement while you climb, hike, or scramble up a rugged goat path.

Great pants, but run very small

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

These are great pants. Very durable, comfortable, and well-designed. My only note is that they run quite a bit small, even compared to other Kuhl pants. Usually I wear Klassik fit 32x32, but I need to size up to a 33x32 in these.

Disappointed

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

The snap/buckle on these and zippers are awful. Kuhl has the ability to make a great product but has missed the mark. The buckle continues to come undone for no reason and the zipper has broken on 2 pairs. I am a size 34x32.

FYI

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

One pair of my Rydr pants had the frequently mentioned snap problem--so I never really wore them. I finally contacted Kuhl, they replied immediately with a free UPS shipping label, and then completed a repair of my pants within a few days of receiving them. Much much faster service then Patagonia, at zero cost. John L.

Too many things that do not work.

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Have had 2 pairs. Both have color spots and fades after first wash. Snap does not stay closed. Both pairs were marked the same size, second pair is a size smaller on waist and length. I like Kuhl products but the Ryder pants and poor quality.

Want to love this pant…

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

The fabric, features, and fit (albeit relaxed) is great. The snap at the waist does not stay closed. I have to bend at the waist and move and the snap comes open. I have a few pairs of Kuhl shorts and they have a “French Fly” which helps take the strain off the zipper/snap. I am looking elsewhere.

Kuhl changed its sizing

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Love Kuhl pants have have multiple pairs of Rydrs I have ordered over the years. I have always gotten the same size. The last three pairs I have bought have all had different variations in sizing. The first pair was tighter than one's I have bought in the past and the last two pairs have retained that slimmer fit but also have gotten longer in the inseam.

Perfect

These are perfect for me. I wear them all the time. I quit wearing jeans and these are my everyday, work, and church wear. Yes, the dye fads differently. That’s by design. I’m looking to expand on my color array.

Most expensive and worst pants I own.

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

The snap on these pants is absolutely useless. I wear these pants occasionally to change the oil in my truck because I cannot bring myself to toss them in the trash because they cost so much and I would not want to put a thrift store shopper thru this. When I do wear them I am snapping the snap all day long. The crotch area has been annoyingly enlarged and looks really funny when you walk. My neighbor tried to give me his pair because he refused to wear them and I refused to take them. 5'11' 175, 32x32...not a hard fit for most pants manufacturers. No way I am posting a picture...you will make fun of me.

Non-functioning snap

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I would rate these a zero if I could - the snap fastener for the waist is so weak that it might as well not be there. It comes unsnapped if I even breathe. I wear them with a belt, and the keeps them from falling off, but honestly - who wants to operate with pants that are coming undone all the time? If the pants used a real button, I'd give them a five rating.

Great all-around pant

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

The fit on these is perfect. They are very light with the perfect amount of stretch while still feeling durable. These pants ride low on your waist but don?t sag in the seat. So it will feel like you want to pull them up sometimes but they are actually sitting on your body perfectly. Great everyday pant. I wear them bouncing around between the office, yard work, hiking, archery, gun range and everything else in between. They look great, the fit is top notch and very comfortable. Highly recommend these pants.
