    Powder 25 Snowshoe

The Komperdell Men's Powder 25 Snowshoe falls neatly into the happy medium of the Summit series, built for the average snowshoe hiker traveling with a day pack or snowboarding equipment. Anodized aluminum provides a lightweight yet robust frame, with a U-shaped tail and rocker profile for easy stomping through deep snow. The decking material is tenacious and snow-repellent, so you won't find yourself gathering heavy powder as you hike, and it's resistant to chemicals, sun damage, and temperature extremes. Komperdell equipped these snowshoes with a front-claw at the fore-foot, and ice-rails integrated into the frame, giving you steady footing and good traction on ice and snow.

    • A quality snowshoe for trekking and split-boarding
    • Rocker construction designed for travel in the snow
    • Aluminum frame offers a durable, lightweight platform
    • Robust decking material is built to last in the cold and sun
    • Claws and side rails help you bite into icy terrain
    • Integrated heel lift assists with steeper assents
    • Easy step-in bindings adjust to fit all types and sizes of boot

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I paid $149 for these last May, 2019. The first time I used them, 12/21/19, the front claw and rear side rail broke on the right shoe. This happened on a gentle to moderate 3 mile out and back trail on old snow. Backcountry referred me to Komperdell (Austria) for warranty repair and I ended up sending them to a third party (distributor?) in Washington State. About 2+ weeks later I got back a pair with the same frame and deck but with a whole new multi-piece crampon assembly minus the heel lifter like my old ones had. I took this new pair of snowshoes out and repeated the same trail as before. At about the mid point of the trail I looked down at my right shoe and discovered that one of the front crampon claws had broken completely off. By the time I returned to the trail head one of the front crampon claws on the left shoe had also broken completely off. (The photo should show this.) The shoes are light and fast in gentle terrain but at the cost of durability. I will never buy a Komperdell snowshoe again and do not recommend spending your money on this brand even at the high markdown. Any MSR snowshoe beats this one.

    How to Measure:
For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
    Bust:
Measure under your arms, around the fullest part of your chest.
    Waist:
Bend to the side and measure around the place where your waist bends, keeping the tape a bit loose.
    Hip:
Stand with feet together and measure around the fullest part of the hip.
