Klattermusen Eir Shirt - Men's

To Eir is human.

If someone tells you they don't prefer merino wool when they're kicking around the hills, then they've either never tried it, or they are feeding you a line. The fact of the matter is nothing beats the soft feel and temperature-regulating performance of merino wool when you're in the mountains, and the Klattermusen Men's Eir Short-Sleeve Shirt is a solid candidate for all of your mountain-wandering adventures. Made from a blend of organic merino wool and soft silk, the Eir offers comfort when you're relaxing in camp and performance when you're hoofing it up a steep mountainside. The Eir's naturally breathable, moisture-wicking, and anti-odor properties will leave you feeling like you made the right choice by wearing it every time you step outside.

TOO TOO TOO ITCHY

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

KLATTERMUSEN, although is one of my favorite outdoor brands, makes mistake on this T-shirt for material choice.

This is the most itchy T-shirt I have even after 5-6 times washing. I don't know why but I really prefer less expensive 100% merino from other brands.

Wore this at a CA beach a few weeks ago when the temp was warm (70 degrees F) at hottest point of day and cold (50 degrees F and cold/windy) by sunset/dark. The T Shirt is excellent quality, looks fantastic and does a great job of keeping you cool and warm during pretty extreme temp changes at a N.California beach. The fabric has great stretch and is really comfortable to move and play in. I washed the tee after a few uses in Woolite in a sink and dried it on my bed overnight and it looked good, smelled great and dried by morning. The only reason I did not give the tee 5 stars is that the fabric is just slightly itchy when worn against the skin as a first layer, so backcountry'ers with sensitive skin might want to choose something with more silk and less wool, otherwise it would be a perfect Tee. My skin is not super sensitive and only noticed the itchiness a few times when I was playing frisbee and was sweating, but I could see some being unhappy about every feeling itchy. Very cool tshirt, Klättermusen. I like!

What on earth makes a t-shirt worth $100???

Hey John - The quality of materials make this Klattermusen shirt so expensive, organic merino wool and silk. There are other more price-friendly options for sure. Feel free to contact me directly with any additional questions.
