KEEN Liberty Ridge Hiking Boot - Women's

Give me life, long hikes, and liberty.

Faraway backpacking destinations call for the Keen Women's Liberty Ridge Hiking Boot. Waterproof full-grain leather and Keen.Dry help this mid-height boot fend off stream splashes and river crossings. The speed lacing system readies you for miles of trails faster than you can say Saskatchewan.

Underfoot, the Liberty Ridge features a removable footbed in dual densities, a foamy PU midsole, extra cush at the heel, and a full-length shank for stability. The rubber sole comes in softer and harder compounds to extra grip where needed and long-lasting durability.

Disappointing color and quality

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 9.5

If I'd paid full price I'd be angry. I paid 55$ or so. Hence, I will just wear them out (which clearly won't take long). They are lightweight but not in a good way. The footbed is oddly shaped shifting rolling my feet and ankles slightly inward and lacking arch support. The leather is thin and stiff. The sole are more plastic feeling than rubber and are unlikely to tolerate being resoled like my older keens. In general, the quality of construction for keens has fallen off in the last several years.
And the color. WHY must there be bright pink on a grey boot? Why? Is there a fear that halfway through the day I will forget I'm female and need to refer to my boot? I like dark plain colors for work and hunting. The pink is annoying. So many keens women's boots now have these bright colors that I refuse to pay full price since I'll have to buy a 2nd pair of boots in a dark color for work and hunting.

Heavy duty

I love these boots! Rugged, great arch support, fit true to size and have lasted through some crazy stuff. Used these a whole summer trekking through the mountains tracking bats and they never let me down! Besides the dirt, they still look new!

2nd pair

I have several Keen hiking and/or winter boots that I really enjoy so I wanted try this water proof hiking boot. Keen boots seem to fit my foot well and require no break in time. For me, the Liberty was true to size, nice looking boot and is a water proof all leather boot relatively light weight boot. I like the lace up system. I have used it in wet, mud and snow and it has held up well although show some wear. I used Sno Seal on the leather to maintain the waterproof. Since I have a lifestyle where I often wear boots I bought another pair to keep for casual (dress up) wear.

comfortable

very comfortable right out of the box. Wide enough in the toe box that my toes aren't squished. They look like they are well made and will be durable, but time will tell.

Great boots but...

I bought these boots this spring and have probably put about 200 miles on them hiking around Yellow Stone national park. Good water proofing and great for steep inclines and declines. They are super comfy and I have been very satisfied up until this point. But just less than six months after purchasing the sole on the right boot is rapidly coming separated from the leather. In just a month they are definitely no longer water proof and the seal is failing rather dramatically. Unfortunately, I no longer have the receipt and the original place of purchase is over a 1000 miles away so I am pretty much shit out of luck. I would like to add that I do regularly oil them and clean away dirt. This is my first pair of Keen's and I am far from impressed. I bought them in May and by November they are falling apart. Have not hardly wore the tread down at all.

Unanswered Question

Do these boots have the wide toe box that is common with Keen footwear? I have problems with bunions, rubbing and swollen toes, and front-of-shoe toe jam. I need a wide toe boot.

Hello,

These boots do not fit and I need to return them.

How do I do so?

Thanks,
Sarah

Hey Sarah- I noticed you were able to get the return set up. Let me know if you want to look at a different pair of boots. I would be more than happy to help you out!
