IcebreakerQuantum Headband - Women's

To wear the Icebreaker Quantum Headband, you don't have to fully understand how what was thought of as five different string theories turned out to be one string theory. You also don't have to have all 11 dimensions worked out. All you really need is a slightly chilly forehead. Merino wool naturally regulates your body temperature and deals with odor so you can wear this headband day after day during the physics conference (or, more likely, during your ski vacation).

What is the inside material of this headband, same as the outside, one layer? Could if be reversible if you needed to flip it inside out?
Last question, how wide is the thinnest part? I'm looking for something at least 2.5" wide.

Finally one that fits small heads!

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

My step-mom has a tiny head and she has never been able to find a headband that fits, but when she saw that this one came in different sizes and not a one-size-fits-all she was so excited! I gifted this for her for Christmas and she has work it almost every day since. She's enjoying having warm ears without having to wear a beanie, especially for her runs. It is nice and streamlines with a low profile which she loves. She's not a fan of bulky headwear.

Warm, cozy, fits under a helmet

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I definitely run hot blooded, no need for a full cap on most cold weather climbing days, but just a little over the ears makes this a useful piece. It also makes my helmet more comfy keeping some padding between my skin and the plastic components.

fits well

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

my wife and I bought matching sets, we both figured it was cold enough in park city to protect the ears this time around. they fit well, and did the job right.

Icebreaker comes through again

Given as a gift. It is loved and used constantly during cool morning/evening runs. Would definitely recommend to others.

true size warm ears

it does the job, at a reasonable price! not much to say, but your ears will be warm.

Thin and loose

  • Fit: Runs large

This material is fine as a baselayer, but not as a standalone product. It could work as a liner for other headgear, but I don't know that it would provide much help- it's very thin, and though I ordered per sizing instructions on the website, the band is far too loose to provide any sort of thermal benefit- the "top" elastic band fits snugly, but the "bottom" band flares out and doesn't grip at all. The cut is very becoming and the material has a quality feel to it - it's just not suited to this application.

Perfect winter running headband

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I overheat really fast so need a headband that will keep my ears from freezing in the winter without making me too hot. This mid to heavyweight headband is absolutely perfect! It comes in sizes so you can customize your fit, and the merino wicks moisture to keep you mostly dry- but when it does get wet, the wool still provides great insulation. If you're worried that it will be itchy because it's wool, don't be. Icebreaker's merino is silky soft and stays that way through frequent washings. This headband is true to size. If you wear a size large helmet/hat, you're most likely going to need a size large headband.
