Icebreaker Lodge Flannel Shirt - Men's

Wear it at the lodge; wear it just about anywhere.

Yeah, the Icebreaker Men's Lodge Flannel Shirt looks all kinds of stylish while tipping back toddies fireside at the cabin. But this attractive long-sleeve button-down is so much more than just good looks. Merino wool fabric has thermal regulation properties that your cotton flannels only dream of; it traps body heat in cold conditions and keeps you cool when the weather is warm, making the Lodge a versatile shirt for all kinds of situations. Its low weight, durability, and natural odor-resistance are just icing on the cake.

My man's new favorite flannel

This shirt is awesome. The fit is great being longer in the torso and arms and not really wide. Perfect for a taller guy.

Awesome wool, fit is boxy/ baggy

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: Medium

I wear a medium in most clothing. This piece is quite baggy on my body. There is no athletic cut to it so it feels like I have a Mexican pancho on. If you conceal carry inside the waistband, the shirt works great.

    Great Shirt, Great Material

This is a really nice shirt. Fabric is great. But, it's not an athletic fit. It's a full fit.

      What if I told you....

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Medium

That you have never tried a real flannel shirt? Would you believe me? Probably not! But chances are once you try on this bad boy you will realize you had been lied to all this time.

The tight weave merino wool screams quality from the first time you try it on to the 40th time you've washed it and beyond. It is soft and durable and will help regulate your temperature better then any long sleeve you have worn. The natural odor resistance is a plus for active folks and for all of those procrastinators out there (laundry is the worst!)

I am 6'2 165lbs with long legs and an average upper body but broad shoulders, the medium fits perfect, I originally ordered the large and the fit was also pretty good but just not what I was looking for, I like a slightly slimmer fit.

When I say this can be used in a wide variety of conditions I mean it, I use this from winter nights in Salt Lake City to hanging out on a beach in Hawaii, yeah they were laughing at first, then came the rain and wind, then they were jelly.

If you are considering one of these flannel shirts but are on the fence or concerned about the price just grab one, you really wont regret it because you will have this shirt for years and years to come. So good I had to get it in other colors as well so I can wear it almost every day.

      What if I told you....

      Flannels will always be cool

Looking for a thicker flannel with some warmth. This is it. This flannel it tough and easily keeps out the cold. Good fit and love the pattern.

        Awesome Flannel

Great flannel, have worn many icebreaker products before and this is another great one. Keeps me warm on fall days. Fits well, have longer arms and it accommodates them well. Would highly recommend and may get another shirt in a different color.

Hey, hopefully someone can answer this question in a rather exigent fashion: I have small IB stuff that fits me really well; my measurements are a 29 - 30in waist, 37.5 - 38in chest, and probably a 36in hip. I'm 5'7"-5'8", and weigh about 135. Should I get this in the Small or the Medium?

So I decided on a purchase of a couple of these in the size Small, and I am thoroughly pleased. According to the sizing chart, I would have been comfortable in a Medium, but I went with a hunch (and following advice from an IB rep with whom I spoke), decided on the Small, and have not been disappointed. My rough measurements are above, although my chest is more like a 38.5", based off my most recent measurement, and the shirt fits better than I anticipated. Glad I went forth, and it is definitely a worthwhile article of clothing.

        Chilly day on the rocks..

Huge thanks to Backcountry.com and Icebreaker for hand-selecting me to review this piece of gear for the benefit of the backcountry.com community.

Overview: 100% tightly woven wool. The tight weave really adds some wind resistance. Top quality built which can be hard to find in mass produced button ups.

The fit is nice and loose. For sizing, I'm 6'2" 170Lbs with a long torso and arms. I wear the large. Gusseted arms give mobility given the fabric has little stretch.

Pros: Seriously top quality! I've run the gambit of long sleeve button ups, and this one takes the cake. Chest pockets can fit large cellphones, clifbars etc. Great stitching around the button holes (a gripe I have with some manufacturers). I love the tough texture and outerlayer proformance of this shirt.

Cons: Wool clothing has its things that nobody can change. It has a slightly itchy feel out of the box. I'm sure after a washing it will soften up. Washing wool can be a pain if you just toss it in with all your other stinky stuff.

And lastly I'd like the shirt to be a little tighter in the body but I blame that on my cycling addiction not the shirt.

All in all, this is the best flannel I've ever had! I love that I can wear it stand alone but also over my down vest on a chilly night.

Its tough as nails and I'm sure I'll never wear it out. FYI, I've never said that about any piece of gear.

Follow up to come after a dozen washings and as many spilled beers.

Jonny used the title I wanted...

Best merino wool flannel shirt ever.

This is seriously the nicest flannel I have ever owned. Not just because it is made from the highest quality merino wool in the world- But for the fact that it just has that perfect fit and feel to it. The shirt is crisp and doesn't get all wrinkled up like typical cheaper flannels. The more I wear it, the better it feels. Treat yourself right, get one. You will not be disappointed.
