These are super warm!!! The fit is great - just high enough around the ankles that you don't have to worry about them messing with the fit while wearing a boot. Not itchy fabric - they are soft - you can wear them all day without having that baselayer scratchy feeling. The waistband fits nice - its nice to have a waistband that's a little tougher and not super weak.

    Sooooo Soft

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size

I was given this product by Backcountry, but the review is my personal opinion.

The fit - I'm 5'7", 130lbs and ordered a small. The model shown in the picture above makes it look like these fit like tights, but on me they fit more like long johns or pajama bottoms. I tried them on under my ski pants, and they fit comfortably, but I could definitely feel the different layers of my skin, the Icebreaker Vertex leggings, and my ski pants. They are also very high waisted. When under my ski pants, the waist band of the leggings actually comes up higher than my ski pants. I rolled the waistband down and it was fine.

I'm not sure if I will use these for skiing, but I will definitely use them as my base layer for camping this winter. They are seriously the softest pair of bottoms that I have ever worn.

I absolutely love this new Icebreaker Vertex legging! It is my new favorite baselayer ! I decided to take them out to an overnight hike to Lake Ann. It was nice out for the hike in and warm. I often am a sweaty hiker but these Vertex leggings were great at wicking away moisture and keeping me comfortable. As I hiked into the darkness it quickly got cold and I was able to add a layer and stay warm; with just the one additional layer! The Vertex legging is super soft and was great to sleep in. I was able to wear them on the hike out the next day and They hardly looked like I had already hiked 5 miles in them. The fit is nice for me which isn’t always easy. I like these because they don’t get stretched/worn out if you wear for a few consecutive days. They also fit comfortably over my legs and butt without struggle which is sometimes a pain for me. Overall I would highly recommend. Washed them a couple times and no pilling or major changes to the appearance/feeling of the layer either which was great.

    Comfortable Bottom Base Layer

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Small

I was given this product from Backcountry, but this review is my personal opinion of the Women's 250 Vertex Legging. I am 5'6 and 120 pounds and found a small to fit me nicely. These leggings are very soft and comfortable and are a great base layer for those ski sessions. These are not compression pants and I wouldn't feel comfortable wearing just them; however, I do enjoy how warm they kept me and the simplicity of the pant. They have quite a pajama feel to them and I found around my legs to get a bit loose as the day went on, but the waistband securely stayed put throughout the day.
If you are looking for a simple, base layer to throw on under pants, these will keep you warm and comfortable.

I have really enjoyed using the 250 vertex legging! These are by far the heaviest weight of long underwear I have owned. I get cold easily and these are warm the instant you put them on.

i was able to wear them camping in about 45 degree weather, so not too cold, but usually at that temp I am shivering. I felt comfortable in my sleeping bag and in the morning

I like the pattern of the vertex 250 in grey, they are super cute! I would recommend this product. I plan on wearing them underneath ski pants. They fit nicely and were just a little baggy on the ankles. The pictures online look more like leggings, but they look more like long underwear/ pajamas in real life.

I was given this product by Backcountry, but this review is my personal opinion.

The Icebreaker 250 Vertex Legging are extremely soft and comfortable. They have good stretch and fit decent to size. Being short with wide hips (5'2" 135 lbs) it can be hard to find comfortable baselayers. The Icebreaker 250 Vertex Legging did a pretty good job. They are a little longer than my leg, so bunch a little in the knee, but that did not bother me.

I wore them camping in 20 degree weather along with the matching top and my core stayed warm through the night despite my face and feet getting nippy.

I have not yet worn them in action. They are a bit too heavy for a hiking baselayer. I plan to use them more under my snow pants once ski season starts and I think they will be perfect for that.

I am glad they kept you warm! The print is super cute!
