The Hurricane Sit-On-Top Skimmer 128 Kayak is the kayak for you when you demand even more of your boat than you do of yourself. In terms of length, this Skimmer sits somewhere in the middle of Hurricane's lineup of recreational sit-on-top boats, meaning it fishes well, and handles even better on tranquil inland lakes. Given that the Skimmer consists of thermo-molded Trylon, this boat is a beauty to handle on dry land, too, thanks to a reduced weight.

As the 128 is made of lightweight and rigid Trylon, you'll be able to lift this boat by yourself and not need to find a chiropractor afterward. The touring-style hull lets you paddle a mostly straight line with little effort and still turn on a dime. The Airestream seat back with Skimmer Cushpad adjusts front to back and up to down, so your body doesn't bemoan being in this boat. Adjustable foot braces are the icing on the quasi-custom fit cake. Three storage hatches and a cavernous stern tankwell give you the space to take off for a weekend on the water. The center hatch has a little plastic bucket inside, perfect for bait or a small dry bag with your keys and camera.

The side paddle park is new to the Skimmer, and it's true, the small things make the difference. Now you can safely stow your paddle when casting or cradling a cold, frothy beverage on a hot, humid day. Two plastic grab handles make it easy to tote your boat to and from the water's edge. Two scupper holes offer easy egress points for incoming water, while a single stern drain plug lets you evacuate any excess water. If the 128 isn't enough as is, you can outfit it with a rudder (sold separate) for improved handling and increased control on the water.
