Hestra Army Leather Wool Glove

Tree runs to corduroy cruisers.

The Hestra Army Leather Wool Glove keeps your digits toasty when you slice and dice through tight aspens and well-spaced pines, seeking out powder stashes days after the last dump. This glove features waterproof impregnated cowhide and goat leather, protecting your hands from wet, high-density snow and dry, cold smoke. The glove's removable liner provides toasty warmth with a supple wool terry palm and wool pile upper. Neoprene undercuffs provide a low-profile fit under your jacket's sleeves, seamlessly sealing out the elements.

Good quality, but not the warmest

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

Probably good for spring skiing, but ended up returning since I didn't feel like they would keep my hands warm in single digits or in the teens. Also felts as if the glove would get cold and wet if it were to come in contact with a damp surface or slush.

I ordered the Hestra Army Leather Wool and the Hestra Czone Mountain Glove at the same time to compare. Definitely felt that the Czone was a much warmer glove for single digit cold weather.

Seriously BEST GLOVE EVER!!!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

When I first tried on a pair of Hestras with the removable wool liner I was at first skeptical because they didn't have the typical super soft feel of Hestra's normal gloves- what they are renowned for. But because other fellow skiers swore by them I gave them a shot, and boy am I glad I did! If you spend a significant amount of time skiing/snowboarding/snowmobiling these gloves are the way to go because the wool liners help regulate the warmth and cold. If your gloves get wet, and I mean really wet, they don't get the penetrating drenched feeling because of the wool.
These gloves are the perfect snowmobile-skiing gloves. You can't avoid your gloves getting wet when snowmobiling but due to the make-up of the durable leather and the wool liner my hands never would get cold! I'm one of those people who always have cold hands and my husband is one of those people whose hands overheat easily, and these gloves work perfectly for both of us.
Once you try these gloves you'll never wear anything else again...
My hand size is a women's medium and a size 7, true to size, fits me great in these gloves.
To note, like all Hestra gloves and mittens the key to making them last is to apply the leather balm before you even wear them. As the season progresses don't be shy to continually use the balm to keep the leather from drying out. Works like a charm.

is this liner merino wool?

is this liner merino wool?

The liner on the Hestra Army Leather Wool Glove is actually a wool terry/wool pile mix that is made from traditional wool. However Hestra does offer a merino woll liner that can be paired with this glove.
