Nice little mitts

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

These mittens are warm and fit. They aren't as bulky as some other models bust still maintain great warmth! If you are an under-cuff type of person, these are for you! The primaloft insulation is warm in some of the coldest temperatures and the leather is nice and soft!

Awesome mitts

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I loove these mittens. I have had a few Hestra gloves/mitts over the years and they are always on the bulkier side. These ones are significantly lower profile but with the same quality and warmth my other Hestras have. The leather is top notch and the color is a great slate grey.

Great little gloves

These are fantastic gloves for any skier or snowboarder out there! The quality cowhide and primaloft insulation paired with superb craftsmanship is more than work $100!

Cute and Cozy

I use these mittens for a multitude of things. I've worn them while clearing snow on my deck and my hands have stayed warm and comfortable the whole time. I wore them skiing on a really cold day and my fingertips did get a little cold but I think that would have happened with anything I wore that day as it was blistering cold out. I have small hands, usually a size 5.5, but the size 6 was perfect.

Cold Winter Warmth

Bought these as a gift for my sister-in-law. She lives in Maine and the warmth of these should help her get through their cold winters.

Really Warm Mittens

You can look up a Hestra size chart and measure your hand to find the appropriate size. They are designed to run about a half inch longer than your hand so that your body warmth circulates in the mitten.
I have extremely cold hands, and poor circulation. Therefore, when I’m snowboarding in wind or at night, my hands are painfully cold. These gloves have an amazing inside liner that is so soft, and a leather outside that blocks wind. Because they are leather, I have water sealed them on my own for protection but haven’t gotten them wet yet so I don’t know their durability in that aspect. I feel like the mittens do run a little wide around my hand, as they look narrow on the website, but they aren’t bulky material at all so it doesn’t bother me. I got the cork color, and it is just a little darker than what is shown on the website but I really like the color.

Cozy and compact

Wore these out yesterday in 15 degree weather and my hands stayed warm throughout the day. The lining is ridiculously soft and the leather is supple. I also like that these aren't the size of an oven mitt - warmth without the bulk!

Looks, warmth, but durability is lacking

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size

After going through pair after pair of lackluster gloves that failed to keep my hands warm, I decided to purchase these in hopes that they would provide enough insulation for skiing. So far they definitely haven't disappointed in the warmth department. I wore them on a powder day in 17 degree weather with 15mph winds and my hands were still sweating on my runs. They look great so you can also wear them casually without looking like you're about to embark on an expedition. They handle moisture fairly well, however I'm nervous about how well the leather will hold up against abrasion. Only used them a few times and I'm already beginning to see signs of wear. That being said, they are definitely more of a casual mitt that will keep you plenty warm on the slopes, (just have to treat them with care). If you're looking for a bomb proof glove for the backcountry, i would recommend going with the Heli's or the Fall Line by Hestra instead.

The gloves are very pretty (no you don't have to be a woman to buy these mittens) they are however susceptible to water and anything wet, as for warmth, they'll do, but they're nothing special or terrible. Get these gloves if you want pretty looking, decent gloves.
