Hestra Alpine Leather Primaloft Mitten - Women's

Outlast the crowds.

As warm as they are stylish, the Hestra Women's Alpine Leather Primaloft Mittens keep your hands totally toasty when you spend your days hitting powder stashes all over the mountain. The impregnated cowhide leather construction brings both killer good looks and long-lasting durability together in perfect harmony, while the brushed polyester promises to caress your skin with an extra soft touch, run after run. A fiery-warm fit and feel is found in the PrimaLoft insulation when temps hit single digits, and the hook-and-loop closure and knitted cuff cinches out frozen, whipping winds.

Cozy and compact

Wore these out yesterday in 15 degree weather and my hands stayed warm throughout the day. The lining is ridiculously soft and the leather is supple. I also like that these aren't the size of an oven mitt - warmth without the bulk!

Looks, warmth, but durability is lacking

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size

After going through pair after pair of lackluster gloves that failed to keep my hands warm, I decided to purchase these in hopes that they would provide enough insulation for skiing. So far they definitely haven't disappointed in the warmth department. I wore them on a powder day in 17 degree weather with 15mph winds and my hands were still sweating on my runs. They look great so you can also wear them casually without looking like you're about to embark on an expedition. They handle moisture fairly well, however I'm nervous about how well the leather will hold up against abrasion. Only used them a few times and I'm already beginning to see signs of wear. That being said, they are definitely more of a casual mitt that will keep you plenty warm on the slopes, (just have to treat them with care). If you're looking for a bomb proof glove for the backcountry, i would recommend going with the Heli's or the Fall Line by Hestra instead.

The gloves are very pretty (no you don't have to be a woman to buy these mittens) they are however susceptible to water and anything wet, as for warmth, they'll do, but they're nothing special or terrible. Get these gloves if you want pretty looking, decent gloves.
