Helly Hansen Alpha 2.0 Jacket - Men's
Helly HansenAlpha 2.0 Jacket - Men's

A versatile ski jacket to see you through varying conditions.

A modern update to Helly Hansen's iconic resort jacket, the Men's Alpha 2.0 Jacket features clean lines and high-performance technology to keep you looking and feeling good on the slopes. With mapped insulation and a four-way stretch fabric, the Alpha 2.0 helps you stay warm and dry whether you ski a couple days a season or a couple days a week.

Low-profile PrimaLoft Black synthetic insulation provides a bit of warmth without overdoing it, and the waterproof Helly Tech Professional fabric and fully taped seams keep you dry when the wind picks up and the snow starts coming down. Articulated arms and elbows maintain a good fit and provide ample freedom of movement when you're going on a quick hike from the top of the lift or tackling some serious bump runs. And when you heat up after a hike or intense run, the H2Flow vent system allows you to rapidly cool off so you don't get soaked with sweat. When the powder piles up, deploy the snap-out powder skirt to keep snow from getting in your jacket. The detachable hood can be left in the car on sunny spring days, and plenty of zippered pockets let you keep a map, smartphone, and snacks handy and easily accessible.

Great Jacket at Great Price

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

This is a great ski jacket. I'm happy with the durable materials and functionality.

Brilliant resort ski jacket

Great jacket, warm enough for a cold winter in Utah skiing Park City, vent system works really well when working hard; kept me dry and very comfortable even in heavy snow falls. Definitely recommend it...

I got called Zoolander for looking great

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large

This jacket is stunning, practical, and wildly warm. I was skeptical at first of it's warmth bc it is relatively light and thin. I was East Coast skiing this weekend in single digits. I layered with Underarmour, long sleeve T, a henly, and a Marmot light weight goose down puffer, and this Helly Hansen jacket. I was perfect if anything a bit warm. The tailored fit did not restrict movement and my layering did not make me look like Marshmallow man. My friends were all frigid and complaining of the cold while I was surprised at all the fuss.

I sized up to allow for layering. I bought the Racer Blue it is truly eye catching. I was called Zoolander at the bar because of how great the jacket looks. However, I am always nervous about where I place the jacket and don't want it to get dirty. So I find myself rolling it inside out when storing it or placing it in areas of questionable cleanliness.

Bottom line, this jacket was worth the price point and delivers on the HH name and brand.

Is this a helmet compatible hood? can't tell.

    Thank you,

    Great Jacket

Is really comfortable. Have yet to try it iskiing but it handled well on a chilly rainy day. The waterproofing works really well. Plenty of pockets to put stuff and things in. It also has my favorite pocket in a ski jacket, a pass pocket on the forearm for my season pass that makes scanning through the lift gates a breeze. Looks great.

    Great mobility

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

This jacket is perfect. It has a lot of stretch to it, so you don't feel restricted at all. The waterproofing works great, and it is super warm without the bulk.

I'm 5'11", about 185. I think a large would fit. I like that this jacket isn't super long but I'm wondering how it will do while skiing with a backpack?

Exactly what I needed. The only thing I would do over is color. I have always picked black for the dirt hiding. This time I picked Alert Red, yes now I stand out but the stain resistance is a concern. I don't like to launder these type of jackets but prefer to spot clean. The type of fabric is difficult to do that. Stick to black if you use it like you should. Other than that temperature regulation is the best I have seen in a jacket of this type. I t does wear like a base layer and you don't really need extra layers very warm and wind proof. I've used it in temperature of below 0 to 50 F. If you are limited in what to wear than this is it. I can't say how the fabric will wear yet. But two seasons of wear and no complaints. I don't buy things to replace every other year. I want to wear it out.
Arms may seam long at first but you will realize why. Fabric stretches well.

I'm 5'11, 195, athletic build. I wear a L in the Arcteryx Rethel, with room for layers. I'm nervous about this looking too puffy. Should I go M or L? Thanks for any advice.

    Hey TheKavorka,

Based on your measurements, I would recommend you go with a Large in the Alpha 2.0. The center back length is a little shorter than your Arc'teryx Rethel but this is a fitted jacket with built in insulation and I think Large would be the way to go. Feel free to contact me directly with any additional questions.

My favorite thing about this jacket is how the insulation and the 4 way stretch fabric work together to make it super comfortable. There is no movement restrictions...feels like the jacket is part of you!
