    Love It.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is a nice, very quality made coffee perk! I bought it to replace an older one
that was handed down, but did not have a cover for the metal handle. I would burn my hand every time I used it, so this is a great replacement. I got the 6-Cup, as I mostly am a single camper, it only will make about 4 to 5 6 oz cups of coffee. Or you can make less. I cut some of my paper filters down to fit the basket to make coffee with no grounds. Works for me, not as much of a mess for car camping. I have been using instant packets for a while due to my old one with a hot handle, this will bring back my love of good tasting perked coffee for base camp or just quick car camping.

    Good Coffee

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is a well made pecolator and the coffee quality is good. Depending on your tolerance for grounds in your coffee, you'll likely want to use a pretty course grind. Bought the twelve cup version which is probably good for 3 - 4 coffee drinkers. This thing lives in my camper.

    Quality

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Similar to other reviews, if you're looking to make coffee for a group or large pots at a time, go with the 12 cup. I bought the 9 cup and it was a little too small for what I needed it for.
That said, the quality of this percolator is awesome, and it works as it should. overall, a great way to make coffee while camping!

    Size labeling misleading!

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

This is a nicely made stainless pot, but the size on the label is misleading. I ordered the 9 cup percolator. It NOT 9 cups by volume -- it is 1.3 liters, which is equivalent to 5.5 cups by volume. GSI's "9 cups" must refer to their idea of a small cup of coffee. I was looking for a pot large enough for a group, and this is smaller than the pot we've had for years, so I'm returning it.

    no more instant coffee

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love this thing. It makes better coffee than the machine at home!

    For the Love of coffee

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I received this as a Christmas gift. My friends know me too well. Instant coffee just doesn't do it for me. This makes good strong coffee when car or trailer camping. Not ideal to hike with. But very easy to use!

    For the Love of coffee

    Smooth Percolator

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Great percolator, it does it's job well. You just cannot beat the price on this compared to the competition. I picked this up after I finally gave up on instant coffee packets. I got the 9 cup, which makes a decent amount. 2 pots was enough for 5 people to get their fix. Looking forward to using this many more times and would definitely recommend!

    Good to the Last Drop

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Perfect for car camping. Haven't used a stainless steel one of these before and I was pretty impressed. Like a few others have mentioned the 6 cup is great for two people. Might want to bump it up if you're making for a group.

    Makes great coffee

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I bought this as I've grown tired of drinking instant coffee at the campsite. Have a Keureg at home so rarely buy ground coffee in a bag, which had me buying instant for camping. Using this reminded me of how much better real coffee is in the morning, particularly on a cold winter day. It's easy to use and cleans up nicely.

    Makin some coffee

Got this for a friend and he said it works great for coffee at the campsite and cleans up nicely.

      6 Cups of Camp Coffee

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I've used this 6 cup maker over the summer and fall and was worried it may not be enough since I think I drink a lot of coffee. I was wrong. The 6 cup maker is more than enough for two people. It's small and durable. Just be sure to use coarse ground coffee and don't let it percolate too long. It's easy to clean. The clear plastic percolator window may loosen up, so beware. Bending the steel lid a little may help with that. The handle is silicone and is never too hot to pour.

      Camp Barista

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

One of the best camp percolators I've found, have been using it all summer and it's still in perfect condition. The silicon handle can be used above a fire and the steel cleans nicely. Came across this specific design in the 10th Mountain Division hut system in Colorado. They seemed decades old - should be a testament its quality.

      We're percolating!!!

I've been using this for the past 2 years and it has held up very well! The 9-cup size is a decent size for 6-9 people with 1 cup serving each. I use this on a camping stove and sometimes on my pocket rocket. But I tell you, this beats instant coffee on any car camping occasion. There's really nothing like a fresh cup of coffee during morning camp vibes! This product is very durable and easy to clean. If your a coffee lover at home, this is the closest thing to a drip coffee maker that you have at home in my opinion.

        Coffee

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This thing makes it and you should buy one cause it works it great!!!

Travis - For 4 people what size would you get? 12 or 9? Thank you.

Scott B. I would get the 12 for sure.

        Nice little pot

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Got this for when I go car camping. Easy set up and clean. Works good. Just make sure to have coarse grounds.

        Great Little Pot But...

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I was so excited to get this pot for fresh coffee out on the road. It has simple directions, it's easy to use and fun to watch great coffee perking. I even bought the filters for it!! It was all good! All except for when I had to chase down the clear plastic center piece that never seemed to stay in place. It looks like it should screw into the top as there is threading on it but it just goes in circles. After digging it out of the dirt one too many times, my industrious guy took a tool to it and knocked the metal about a bit to tighten it up. Beware and be watching for wherever that little piece might end up!!

        Coffee every morning.

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is a great coffee pot. Easy to use. Make sure to coarsely grind your beans or you'll be drinking chunks.

        Works well

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I'm a coffee addict, but I go with a percolator for camping because it's less equipment intensive than everything you need for an Aeropress or pour over (no filters or separate kettle).

I would note that if you're using fresh beans you don't have to grind them coarsely as the directions indicate. You can use fewer beans and grind them fairly fine. If they're fresh enough they'll expand when the water hits them and will not slip through the strainer holes.

        Works great

Works great and makes great coffee!

          9 cup perculator

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Makes some high octane coffee!! Solid construction! A must for the religious coffee drinker!!
