C3 Gore Windstopper Bib Tights+

Weather in the shoulder seasons is unpredictable, even more so as winter takes over. You may start a ride in 50-degree weather but then a frigid wind picks up and makes it feel close to freezing. With a set of C3 Gore Windstopper Bib Tights+ you can keep your lower body warm and get the most out of your ride, whether it's a quick excursion on a brisk fall morning, or a long ride in the dead of winter. These bib tights use a Gore Windstopper membrane on both the front and back panels to block out harsh winds and insulate you from the cold. Even the chamois incorporates Windstopper material at the front, preventing icy oncoming winds from causing discomfort. Not only is the Windstopper material windproof and water-resistant, but it's also breathable to manage perspiration on harder training rides.

We're well aware of the ailments of bib straps when a longer ride necessitates a bio-break, especially on colder days when you're donning multiple layers. Gore's solution to this is an innovative zipper system that separates the bib straps from the tights, without needing to remove your top layers. The bib straps themselves use an X-shaped design with a hook closure to provide a secure fit. Gore claims the hook won't cause any friction over the breastbone, a problem we've encountered with other bib tights.

  • Bib tights for cycling on cold and windy days
  • Windstopper membrane is windproof, water-resistant, breathable
  • Chamois with Windstopper front panel improves comfort and warmth
  • One-zip system allows bathroom breaks without removing top layers
  • X-shaped bib with hook closure provides secure, friction-free fit
  • Mesh back ventilates when your body temp rises
  • Pre-shaped knees allow optimal comfort in the saddle
  • Relective logo and piping enhances visibility to traffic

Tough to Design Bib Leggings to Fit Most

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: small

I am 5'5", 125 pounds. I found these leggings to have an unflattering fit on me so I'm returning them.

I generally find that XS is slightly too tight in cycling bottoms so I usually opt for the small. These small bib leggings had excess fabric in the groin area, knees and ankles. Overall, it was not a flattering fit, which is unfortunate, because I really need bib leggings for cold weather cycling. I read a review online which piqued my curiosity since they were listed as a great option. I'll try the XS and see if it is better.

Perfect for Winter Riding!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Small

I live in Maine and these are perfect for any weather I may run into when riding. Very happy with these bibs!

Forgiving or Not Forgiving

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: large

Recently purchased this thermal bib, rushed the delivery to wear on the our first coldest day of winter training with temps 27-29C to start. They were warm from the start and kept the moisture inside and blocked the little wind I encountered, they have good ventilation in the rear; but they were not forgiving near the back of knees nor the thighs-- at all. They were even uncomfortable at times.

The unzipping method of the top part of the bib and bottom is convenient for small restrooms but irritating because of the location of the zipper. I did not like the fact that they didnt stay up - not sure if that was because of the material that includes the windstopping material or because of the location of the zipper; but I was constantly tugging and pulling them up on my ride.
This bib was so unforgiving it was totally uncomfortable - my rides consisted of lots of elevation, rolling hills, climbs and cold air. It felt like I was wearing a card board box at times.

This was not a good investment and I will be seeking to return for a refund or something else.

Erroneous description

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: Small

Claims bib detaches from tights. It does not, it unzips to 1” from detaching but is blocked by seam and piping. Meaning bio breaks require removing top layers .

How to Measure:
For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
Measure under your arms, around the fullest part of your chest.
Arm Length:
Measure from the center of your back to your wrist with arms held out.
Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape a bit loose.
Measure around the fullest part of your body at the top of your legs.
Using pants that fit well, measure the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.
