The thigh circumference in the chart looks awfully small, even accommodating for the 4-inches of stretch -- is it accurate? My thigh circumference is 55cm, which even with the stretch factor would put me at a size larger than their XXL. For reference, in Pearl leg warmers, I wear a Med; in Assos, a Lrg (they call it a 2). Thanks in advance for any shared wisdom.

I think the size chart is definitely off. I ordered the small and my thigh circumference is the same as yours, and there was no way it was 14.9 in. Although the small fit, I felt it was a bit tight at top, didn't stay, kept rolling out because it didn't have a sticky grip. Sadly, I'm returning it. :(

Good material, odd fit

These leg warmers are great for deflecting the chilling effect of wind. That is their primary job and the material is excellent at this. The slight downside is that the material is not very stretchy and tends to slip due to there being no gripper on the thigh. In combination I get some sagging and wrinkling which is not a great look.

Lite & warm

Not water proof but wind water resistant. Can't go wrong here- 60-42F. I have perl Izumi & I'd say they are warmer but much thicker/heavier. Windstopper needs to get "warmed up" by creating outward perspiration- so expect to be chilled for first 5-10min but then it shines.
