You need it.

Rather than having a specialized kit for every type of ride, we occasionally prefer pieces that are appropriate for whatever the day has in store. By blending a race-ready fit with comfort-focused features, the Gore Bike Wear Oxygen 3.0+ Men's Short strikes that balance for everything from after-work rides to weekend base miles.

One of the Oxygen 3.0's first noticeable elements is its large, triangular waist panel. Composed of a stretchy, breathable synthetic, the panel is well-equipped to support the torso without restricting your body movements in the saddle. It's complemented by supportive nylon and elastane blend legs cut to follow a form-fitting shape. These additions serve to stabilize your muscles during longer rides while still facilitating rapid moisture transfer.

Gore includes its Oxygen Men chamois to act as a barrier between you and the saddle—albeit a flexible, breathable barrier that stretches as much as it cushions for long or short ride comfort. Other practical details like leg grippers and seaming placed to strategically limit chafing work together to create a short that's appropriate every time you pull it out of the drawer.

  • An everyday cycling short with a slim, race-ready fit
  • Supportive main body fabric and stretchy, breathable waist
  • Chamois adds cushion and support while moving with you
  • Wide leg grippers hold short in place
  • Reflective accents help you stand out in low light

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: Large

I bought a pair of these shorts about 7 yrs ago and absolutely loved them. They were my go-to short because they were the most comfortable cycling shorts I had ever owned. When they began to wear out, my first thought was to buy another pair. When these shorts arrived in the mail, I instantly knew that these were not the same quality as my old shorts. The fabric felt cheap and the fit/sizing was not the same. The only saving grace was that the padding was similar to my old shorts. However, for $130, I expected a lot more. Very disappointing!
