This jacket does it all.

If you’re the type that heeds the alarm call for dawn patrol and just wants to hit the trails without the fuss, Giro’s Jacket Shoe is your best friend. Ideally designed for flat pedals with an EVA mid-sole that ensures a low profile and pedaling efficiency, the Jacket is right at home climbing up to the top of your favorite track. The Poron XRD heel cup and bootie retention system provide further support, and they're paired with a lace-up style to help keep the shoe securely in place. The Jacket’s casual style is then ready to fit right in as you park the sled and recover (or undo all the work you just did) at your local diner.

Great Shoes

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 40

True to size, excellent shoes ni grip. and as Always de Best Service CC and my Gear Head Greg tks!!!!

Can you beat the color?

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Seriously, the color ways are awesome on these shoes. They aren't my favorite for uphill pedaling -- I want the sole to be a bit stickier like five tens I'm use to. However, they are great for downhill park days. I like that the sole isn't as sticky so you can move your foot around a little easier on flat spikes.

A really good MTB shoe

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Five Ten has been the MTB shoe benchmark for quite some time. Simply put, they make great shoes. That being said, I have never felt like Five Ten shoes have fit me as well as others.

My last pair of Shoes endured a decade of abuse but, the soles had given me all they could. I tried on a few options and read many reviews landing on the Giro Jackets. The Jackets fit me better than others I had tried including Five Ten. The grip is great and stick well to my pedals (Diety Compound). I often have to lift to reset a foot. The sole is supportive and actually fairly stiff which offers a great platform for standing on the down and mashing on the up. The shoe itself is supportive when laced and keeps my foot comfy and in place. The laces are super solid and stay laced always. The lace keeper on the tongue keeps the loose ends put.

The style is cool but my wife hates the color... I like it (Turquoise). All in all a pretty solid product from Giro that I love.

I only have one complaint and it has to do with Giro, not the shoe. These laces are really good and stay knotted. I want another pair in black and Giro cannot get another pair. They don't sell this lace as a replacement on their site and could not direct me where to get another set. ...really? They're your laces. They rock. How can you not get a set other than on the shoe new? ...great laces in case you didn't catch that.

Me: Size 9.5 U.S. ; but, I often size down. Size 43 was perfect for me. Not tight so I believe this shoe runs about true to size or possibly a tiny bit large (less than 1/2 size).

Great Shoe

Really comfortable, and offer tons of grip. They've held up really well and I expect to get 3+ seasons of heavy use out of them.

Super Grippy Flat shoes

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I came from a long history of Five Ten shoes, but saw these and loved the colors and decided to try them out. The sole is super grippy and has kept me on my pedals through all sort of gnarly terrain. Super comfortable as well, runs true to size. I am a women's size 6.5-7 and got the 38 and they fit perfect

Super grippy shoes and you could also wear them out after a ride. Solid shoes for the price.

So far so good!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have ridden Five Tens for the past few years and switched to these this year. Surprisingly, I have been loving these more than my Five Tens. I have about 10 rides with them so far and I have been so impressed with the grip and durability these seem to have. I would highly recommend these to anyone looking for a new bike shoe to ride with their flats.

Wrong Size

I like the look and soles of these shoes but they were just a size too large and I had to return them. I typically wear a 9.5 and bought 43. I think a 42 would be a better fit.

    fantastic

These shoes are great, super comfortable and does an amazing job with the flat pedals.

      Awesome shoes

Love how flat these shoes are. They cover flat pedals so well and you can't go wrong with that vibram grib! Awesome looking shoe that doesn't disappoint when riding and jumping your bike!

When I pulled these out of the box the boys were stoked. They had a nice casual look to them but felt like a nice and sturdy shoe for the trails. I put them on and it only took about a day or so of walking around an riding to break in. I usually fit in a 42.5 euro but these didn't have the half sizes so I went up to a 43 and still fits great.

These shoes are super sticky and look cool to boot! I usually wear an 8.5 and a 41 fit great. I haven't put much time on them but they seem super durable and well made.

      Comfortable, Grippy, Slightly Large

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: Runs large
      • Size Bought: 44.0

I bought these shoes because of a recommendation from a friend. I was not disappointed. They're grippy enough to stay on your flats, but not so much that you can't make adjustments on the fly. I normally wear an 11 shoe and I went with the 44.0.

      Grip quality

The grip on the bottom of the shoes wore out very quickly with my metal peddles. Before my first season with them they had already completely worn away and no longer gripped on my peddles. I did use the shoes multiple times a week but other shoes that I have had have lasted multiple seasons. If you are going to use these shoes a lot I would not suggest them but if you don't get out much they do the job well. I like the 5.10 shoes a lot more and would suggest getting a pair of those instead and they tend to last longer and have better grip.

      Jacket Shoe

Bought these as a gift for my BF and he loves them! perfect grip and great casual look.

Great pair of shoes. Casual enough to wear to the bar and stiff enough to ride the gnarliest trails. The Vibram sole is good and sticky without leaving marks on the floor. I haven't fully put them through the paces, but they seem like they are going to hold up just fine. The fit is a little large, so I would suggest buying true to size or down if you are on the fence.

        Awesome after break in

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
        • Fit: True to size
        • Size Bought: 37.0

I got these on sale bc $150 for fivetens were not in my budget. I'm a Women's size 7 and went with a 37 and the length fit great. This is a narrower shoe and I had a little discomfort in the toe box at first. I had the shoe stretched in the toe area which cost me $5 and they are great now. They are sticky but not so sticky that I can't reset my foot when I need to. The shoes are pretty sturdy and well made without being too heavy. They protect my feet from rocks and they are comfortable enough for hike-a-bike. I also find them super grippy for scrambling up rocks to get good views. They aren't too hot and dry quickly.

        Jackets for your feet!

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
        • Fit: Runs large
        • Size Bought: 42.0

Awesome shoes out of the box. I am a 5.10 guy because they seem to be the best fit for my feet. However these shoes fit great, I would definitely say they are a bit wider than the usual fit from a 5.10. but not by much. I'd say go down a half size from usual, but I'm no expert. The best part is that the sole is much stiffer than the free rider, giving better power output, also making them much more comfortable for a full day of riding.

        Jackets for your feet!

        Good from the start

I just picked up a pair of these in turquoise, and man do they stand out. As far as fit and function, they are excellent. Just enough flex for good pedal feel and support, and walking in them as a casual shoe is good as well. Materials so far seem to hold up really well, and the vibram sole offers excellent grip on my pedals. Not quite as grippy as five ten's, but I would put them pretty close. When it comes to sizing, I tend to wear between an 11.5 and 12 shoe size. I tried the 46 in these and they fit pretty spot on for my foot. Need to see how they handle the heat in summer riding, but for now, I am quite pleased with the performance and comfort out of these.

that's about my size as well... do you have a wider or narrower foot?

Hey Owen. I have a pretty average foot as far as width. Have not had to go wider or narrower on any shoe that I have purchased.

Too big for my girly feet

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
          • Fit: Runs large
          • Size Bought: 38

These shoes do run wide and big. The sole has great grip, very stiff and is very durable. I changed out the laces in mine so they didn't look so manly. I like these shoes but the 5.10 Freerider seem to fit my narrow foot a bit better.

Too big for my girly feet

I see that you tried these in a 38 — what US women's size do you normally wear? Considering giving these a shot — I'm a women's 8.5 usually, thinking of trying the EU 40 in these. Would thicker insoles have helped the width issue?

Hey Cassie.nel620455. If I were you I would go with the 39's they do run big. I'm normally a 7 to a 7.5 and I wear 39 in most of my cycling shoes but these are still big at a 38.
