The hardest part of cutting a DIY ski video isn't the filming any more.

Don't miss an opportunity to capture a video of face shots flung from an unexpected stash because you forgot an attachment clip for your POV camera. The Giro Edit Helmet features an integrated camera mount, designed to work with a GoPro camera, that's perfect for easy attachment and low-profile when the camera is not on the helmet. The helmet's in-mold construction, Super Cool vents with Thermostat Control and Stack Ventilation, and Trip Clip helmet carry system make The Edit the lightest full-featured helmet Giro's ever made.

  • In-mold construction fuses a tough outer shell with the impact-absorbing foam, saving weight
  • Integrated camera mount allows you to easily attach and remove GoPro camera
  • Roc Loc 5 Fit system lets you fine-tune the fit in seconds
  • Super Cool vents pull cool, fresh air into the helmet while pushing out heat and stale air
  • Stack ventilation in helmet and vents over goggles allows excess heat to escape for fog-free vision
  • Thermostat control allows you to adjust air flow with one button
  • X-Static anti-bacterial padding helps reduce funk
  • Trip Clip system offers carabineer clip to hook Edit to pack
  • Compatible with all aftermarket Giro audio systems (sold separately)

Great Fit and Value

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Very comfortable, good warmth and insulation when required. Fortunately, have no direct knowledge of how well it protects me to date. Color true to internet image. Quite happy with this purchase.

Great helmet with a ton of features!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This thing is awesome and your friends will love all the sweet action shots it provides them with. Comes with an integrated GoPro mount which allows you to capture amazing #goatworthy pictures. Super comfortable and easy to adjust with the Roc Loc fit system. It's warm enough for those cold windy days but also has an adjustable ventilation system that comes in handy for Spring riding.

Great helmet with a ton of features!
Unanswered Question

Is that the true orange (burnt) color of the helmet as shown on your site? Other sites show a brighter orange with black straps and buckles whereas yours has a blue strap and orange buckle/sliver carabiner. I am interested in buying if more of a burnt or darker orange color. Thanks

Unanswered Question

Do the giro ski helmets fit similarly to their mtb helmets?

can the ear pads be taken off?

Hey Ironclad,

The ear pads are not removable.

great light and comfortable helmet. my head circumference is 56 cm but i got size S and it fits me well. it's well-made and functions great.

light and comfortable

Very nice, but bring back 2014 Green!!!

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I ordered this year's (2015) helmet in Matte Bright Green. But the actual color is closer to what's pictured for Highlight Yellow. More of a dayglow green. So I ended up finding last year's (2014) in Matte Green which looks more like the Bright Green photo. I hope they bring back 2014 Matte Green again. Much nicer looking than Bright Green IMO.

Otherwise a nice helmet. GoPro mount works well. A little worried the plastic screw will strip in the metal threads. Wouldn't recommend mounting and un-mounting a lot.

Comfortable is what counts.

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

No complaints on my end, sounds like it is comfortable and true to fit.

Have they changed anything from the 2014 version to the 2015 version? I have the 2014 version and really enjoyed it, but the female screw in end for the GoPro is made of plastic and stripped near the end of the season unfortunately. Love everything about the helmet save for the plastic receiver for the GoPro as mine is now useless for that purpose. Thanks.

No they just updated the colors! You'll see there are a couple colors listed here on sale - those are left over from last year.

I found your review helpful Francis. Why would they make the threads plastic? Sounds like a design flaw. That's one of the main selling points of the helmet. I would hope that Giro would make it right?

My son's head measures 22" - I ordered a large which is a 1.2" in size bigger than the medium. Will this fit properly with the helmet being just 1.2" larger than his head? Also, we found the same helmet at for $90. If I need to re-order can you price match?

Really the medium will likely fit best. Unless he plans to wear this with a thick beanie all the time the large will be too large.

We are happy to look into a price match for you. In order to match a competitors price they need to have the same model, color, size, and year in stock. If you need a price match just chat or call in to our expert gearheads who would be happy to get that set up for you.

My head measurement it right on 59cm, so should I go with the medium or large size?

Hey glennr12258193,

I would recommend going with the medium size. If your helmet is too large, several things could happen: it will move around on your head when you least want it to; it can be noisy and let in wind; worst of all, it may come off in a crash!

Fits great!

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I've been upgrading all my equipment this year and with this helmet I am again amazed at how much better technology is vs. my 5+ year old stuff. The Giro Edit fits and feels great right out of the box. I have a big head (7 5/8) and I was worried that I'd need something bigger than the standard large but I was wrong. The dial on the back comfortably snugged the helmet down and I can't wait to hit the slopes at the end of the month!

The only somewhat downsides that was previously mentioned is that it does feel like it's sitting high on the back of your head but after comparing it to my old helmet it isn't, it actually protects more area. I think its just having to get used to different helmet webbing.

On the weird side I appear to have received a non-standard color combo. I ordered the Olive with the tan lower (earflaps) in the picture, but the helmet came as Olive with a black lower instead. I think it actually looks better, so no worries.

Is there a difference between women's and...

Is there a difference between women's and men's sizing? Or is it unisex? I see on the formal GIRO website, they've separated women's vs men's helmets. Many thanks!

I think there's a difference between individual helmets more than mens vs womens. The medium Edit is smaller than the medium in the womens helmet that I have.

Fits good

Haven't had the chance to use it yet because the snow season will start in a couple of months here in Chile, but it fits alright and seems pretty warm.

Giro Edit Helmet

good helmet

my dad rocks this helmet and loves it. I think it looks hideous. It gets the job done and keeps you safe

Nice follow up to the Montane

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The Edit is definitely Giro's best helmet to date. Extremely light weight and yet it still offers built in fit adjustment and vents that you can adjust on the fly. The back of the helmet also fits more snug than compared to any Smith helmet - probably due to the way the ear pads are separate from the roc lok system. This creates a warmer fit for those windy days riding the lifts.

Using the GoPro mount is simple and secure and leaves a very clean look for the days you don't need the camera.

The chin strap does tend to loosen during the course of a day's riding - making for a cool day ripping down the hill, and finding a way to stash the wire connecting your CHIPS or other audio speakers is always a challenge.

For some reason Giro helmets do not sit very deep on your head - more like they rest just on top. This affects the overall appearance a little bit and can make the helmet seem bigger than it actually is.

Definitely worth a look if you are in the market for a helmet

Nice follow up to the Montane
