Cooler than cool.
When temperatures skyrocket on summer days, reach for the Giordana Men's FR-C Pro Lyte Short before heading out the door for a spirited training ride underneath the hot sun. Comprised of a lightweight perforated fabric and an aero dimpled material along its leading edges, the FR-C Pro Lyte Short provides active cooling and a slippery aero profile that cuts down on drag. As part of Giordana's FR-C Pro collection, you'll find this cycling short boasts a streamlined, race-inspired fit that hugs key muscle groups with compressive support, but without inhibiting your movement while pedaling swiftly or bursting out of the saddle in a sprint.
As any serious cyclist is well aware, the chamois sits at the heart and center of any pair of cycling shorts. Seeing this particular short aims towards discerning of cyclists, it's equipped with Giordana's Cirro S chamois, which is comprised of open cell foam that aides in ventilated, moisture-wicking comfort. Perhaps its most notable feature is the Copa Mondiale, which is a recessed area in the front of the pad that's uniquely designed for the male anatomy, resulting in a more comfortable fit. The uppermost layer of this chamois uses an aloe-infused microfiber that's both cooling and anti-odor in nature, so you'll remain blissfully comfortable as you ride long distances, even while sweating profusely.

- Q & A
Great not-bib shorts
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
- Fit: True to size
I dont know what it is about me; but I measure to wear a small on these and they run true to size for me. I feel the same way about Castelli products too. I wear the same size in Castelli, Giordana and Rapha.
With that out of the way; I bought these without straps to actually use on the indoor trainer for 30-45 minutes at a time. They provide good compression and are vented well. The pad isn't quite as comfortable for me as the Castelli Progetto X2 as there is some bunching in the middle that can happen but its protects well and is in the same class. The shorts stay up well without straps better than any other shorts have owned, but the tops do fold over and can dig in a bit; but they run cooler than bibs, look a little less goofy sans shirt, saved a good bit of money, and keep me from wearing out my nicer (more expensive) bibs.
I would easily wear these on hot days too for couple our rides. Great piece of kit.
Giordana cycling shorts
- Fit: Runs small
- Size Bought: XL
The pad and fabric are fantastic as always, I went by the sizing, forgetting that at least 1 or 2 sizes too small is the routine for Giordana. Will need to send these back for larger size. Why are they so off on their sizes?
